in Foodies Bee Hive6 days ago

Hello, friends especially foodies!

Last Sunday, my boyfriend and i wanted to try Thai cuisine, so before sunday churching, we visited one of a well known Thai food restaurant which was located in Senayan Plaza. And now let me tell you about our first experience there.

When we arrived at the restaurant, it was still 11 am, so no wonder, there were not many customers before us.

But it was getting crowded later when we were eating there..

They had some of their tables and chairs outside. The rattan chairs looked comfortable.

They claimed themselves that they had the best tom yum in town and they already sold more than 1,000,000 bowls already which made us curious about the taste.

Inside, the restaurant was large, and it had many chairs and tables. It had bright light and felt comfy and cozy. Suddenly, i loved their dining area. The atmosphere made me felt fresh to be there.

We sat on the long soft chair that they had for the tables near the outside. Well, it was comfortable to be there and made me even more curious about their food would taste. Would it be as comfort as the place...

For the menu, in light bites section, they had crispy mushroom, crispy betel leaves, the spring roll, thai style wrapped satay, popia tod, crab spring roll and breaded silky tofu.

In salad section, they had mango salad with crispy prawn, som tam papaya salad, and som tam mamuang mango salad.

In soup section, they had tom yum goong (shrimp tom yum)/chicken tom yum/seafood tom yum, tom tha kai, and tom saab.

In light to share section, they had crab omelette, crispy squid curry with mantao, goong ob woonsen, son-in-law egg (the name is so unique), and squid salted egg.

On next page, they had pandan chicken, gapraw khai, prawn omelette, pak choy paddy straw mushroom, winged bean namprik pao, HK kailan garlic and XO french bean.

In main to share section, they had tom yum suki, thai BBQ, pia muk neung manao-lime squid, kaeng khiao wan-chicken green curry and thai basil chicken.

Next, they still baramundi prik sod, mango salad baramundi, namprik pao baramundi, thai spicy crispy chicken, chili lime baramundi and red curry baramundi.

Also, they had goong harod, special thai whole grilled chicken, thai street speciality steamed prawn, mamak tomyum, crying tiger, and thai grilled squid.

In individual section, they had pad thai goong, thai boat noodle, thai ramen noodle, pineapple fried rice, beef basil fried rice, and green curry chiffon rice.

And still, they had thai grilled chicken on rice, tom yum fried rice, squid ink fried rice, chicken ga praw on rice, prawn fried rice, and thai chicken curry rice.

In dessert section, they had mango sago, red ruby, taro balls, cassava with coconut milk, monthong durian sticky rice and mango sticky rice.

In drinks section, they had ginger lemongrass, rosella lemongrass, iced/hot thai coffee, iced citrus, limeade, and others.

On one of the wall, they hung some of their menus' pictures like pad thai goong and tom yum.

Modern, they gave us a qr code to order online.. so these were what we ordered

Not a long time of waiting, thai tea came, followed by tom yum, sago mango, and last pineapple fried rice - right when we enjoyed the tom yum.

And finally, these were all our order that day...

Now, how about their taste and flavour..

TOMYUM GOONG

It contained shrimps, mushroom with lemongrass, and many other spices. Cooked with coconut milk, it tasted sour, savory and a bit spicy. Tasty, even the shrimps were also tasteful. No wonder they could sell many of it, because it was so tasty.

PINEAPPLE FRIED RICE

The pineapple fried rice they had contained fried rice with topping like egg, pineapple and raisin. With non oily texture, it had savory and sweet. Surprisingly, pineapple and raisin tasted so good if combined with rice.
And also, the fried rice accompanied with
boiled shrimp - tasted natural sweet

wrapped satay - tasted savory in spices with soft texture

grattered papaya salad with peanut on top - tasted sour, sweet, and a bit spicy.

The texture was unique because of the crunchiness of the peanut they put on top.

I also could say that this dish was tasty too, and so unique.

MANGO SAGO

The mango puree tasted too soft. Not too mango, it felt light sweet and also light sour. Even it served with real mango, but the taste is too mild. However, it was un tasty at all. I don't recommend this one.

THAI TEA

Thai tea that they served tasted less sweet than it usually in other place. It contained tea and condensed milk plus ice cubes. Tasted so so, maybe i had expected too much.

Well, overall my first time tom yum experience was so good, and i also could say that their fried rice was tasty too.
