🍽️ Dinner at Yenfa: Comfort Food & Warm Hearts in Bandar Lampung

A cozy dinner with warm hearts and comforting flavors — that’s exactly how our evening at Yenfa, one of Bandar Lampung’s long-loved Chinese restaurants, felt. From sizzling seafood to rich tofu dishes, every bite was full of homestyle goodness and care. 🍤🥢

Sometimes, the best food isn’t about luxury — it’s about sharing it with people who make you feel at home. 💕

When it comes to family-style Chinese dining, Yenfa Restaurant in Bandar Lampung knows exactly how to make every guest feel at home. Tucked away from the city’s busy streets, Yenfa offers a warm, inviting atmosphere — the kind that instantly reminds you of weekend dinners with family, filled with laughter, stories, and of course, good food.

The restaurant itself has a long-standing reputation among locals for serving authentic Chinese-Indonesian dishes that are generous in both flavor and portion.

Inside, the setting feels cozy and familiar yet modest: rectangle tables with soft chairs, the comforting hum of conversation, and the delicious aroma of woks sizzling from the open kitchen. A live musician plays soft melodies in the background, adding an extra charm to the evening.

When we sat, a waitress kindly offered us the menu. They have many menu to choose. Yes, exactly from kind of fried rice that made my mouth watering - noodle - rice noodle - flat noodle.

They of course also have seafood, kind of fish dishes, shrimp, crab, chicken, beef and squid.

They even have frog too. Of course they also have fuyunghai, tofu, soup, dishes with stinky beans, and eel.

For veggie, they have water spinach, brocolli, chinese brocolli, capcay, and hotplate dishes too.

They don't have many drinks to choose there, only kind of juice, tea or pocari sweat.

During our visit there, we ordered several of their signature dishes to share — Beef Hotplate Water Spinach, Tofu Tausi Gourami, and Fried Butter Shrimp.

The Beef Hotplate Water Spinach arrived first, served still bubbling from the kitchen. The savory sauce coated the crunchy kangkung perfectly, while soft slices of beef and bits of seafood added a delicate briny note that made the dish rich yet balanced. It had totally beyond my expectation, more than just tasty, the sweet and savory stayed in harmony, superbbb!

Next came the Tofu Tausi Gourami, a standout that quickly became everyone’s favorite. The fish was fresh and tender, topped with black bean sauce that brought a wonderful depth of umami. What made it even better was the combination of two types of tofu — the classic Chinese tofu and the softer Japanese variety — creating a creamy contrast that absorbed the sauce beautifully. It had dominant savory flavour and also tasty!

The Fried Butter Shrimp was the highlight of the night. Each shrimp was coated in a light golden batter, perfectly fried until crisp yet juicy inside. The buttery, creamy sauce gave off a comforting aroma that lingered at the table long after the last piece was gone.

As we enjoyed the meal, I couldn’t help but notice the gentle warmth in the air — the kind that comes from both the food and the people sharing it. My boyfriend's parents were kind and attentive, making sure everyone had enough on their plates. It was a simple but genuine act that made the dinner feel even more special.

You know i think Yenfa isn’t the kind of restaurant that tries too hard to impress; instead, it focuses on what truly matters — flavor, comfort, and familiarity. It’s a place where every dish feels like it’s cooked with care, and every visit feels like coming home.

If you ever find yourself in Bandar Lampung, Yenfa is the kind of restaurant worth returning to again and again — not just for the food, but for the feeling it leaves behind.

There’s something about good food that always brings a sense of comfort — not just to the taste buds, but to the heart. My dinner at Yenfa in Bandar Lampung was one of those moments where warmth, flavor, and a touch of togetherness came perfectly together. 🍽️💙
