Hello, friends especially foodies!
Recently after sunday service, i went to a pork specialist restaurant. Fortunately i didn't go there myself, i went there with my boyfriend and also my best friends. Well, now let me tell you about my experience there.
That day, we arrived at the restaurant 1 pm something. The restaurant's name is Fei Cai Lai, and they claimed that this restaurant as "House of Pork".
Well, this restaurant made me curious because i always see many customers inside and also they had pork dishes as their specialities. Anyway, this restaurant is located behind food court so you must go inside the food court to figure it out.
From the banner outside, you could see that they had some new menus. Those are special pork soup, fried meesoa, fried porkball, pork kwetiau/meesoa soup, porkball soup and pork curry noodle/meesoa.
Looked tempting, i think i know what menu i would choose that day.
Inside, as predicted, many customers were there before us. Lucky for us, we still had a table for 5 persons. Well like you could see, they had a nice dining area. Some were completed with sofa, and others with wooden chairs. It had one red wall.
Overall, the dining area is quite large and comfy. No wonder, the customers enjoyed their visit there.
Enough with the dining area, let me tell you about their menu. On the first page, you could see Bakkut teh set and pork leg set.
Then you could see that they had hong pork rice, salted egg steamed pork rice, hainanese rice set, mixed rice set, pork belly fried rice, yang chou fried rice, steamed pork rice, and salted egg chicken rice.
In rice set category, they had singapore king pork rib, pork chop, sawadee pork katsu, soysauce pork belly, and salted egg pork belly.
For soup, they had pork curry meesoa, pork curry noodle, pork kwetiauu soup, special pork soup set, pork meesoa soup, lomie sapo, and pork ball soup. They also had special fried meesoa and fried pork ball.
They also had pork belly horfun, seafood horfun, penang stirred kuey teow, pork belly fried noodle, pork belly char kuey teow, egg kuey teow noodle, and singapore char kuey teow. For side dish, they had variants of guo pao, kuo tie, fried pork belly, singapore fried chicken, ngohiong, xo turnip, pork satay, salt chili tofu and salted egg tofu.
So complete, even they had variant of dimsum too there. And no need to worry they had some ala carte menu too.
For dessert they had kind of iced. They also had fresh juice and some cold drinks like barley, lemon barley, lemon tea, honey lemon, mineral water, tea, grass jelly basil and bandung grass jelly. They also had some kind of coffee and tea too.
There, you could also see how they cooked the dishes cause they had a large glass window that showed their kitchen.
Because we all had different menu that we ordered, the dishes came one by one. I only took photo of what my boyfriend and i had that time and luckily he sat in front of me, so here was our table.
And we also had another side dish that came lately. Well, now let me started to share what we had there.
Mine was
PORK MEESOA SOUP
My main menu is one of their new menu. Of course it had meesoa (chinese wheat noodle) which had soft smooth texture. And for the toppings it had some kind of pork sliced meat which tasted really soft and savory, tasty porkballs, boiled egg and also mustard. They also gave sliced spring onion and a bit fried garlic on top. Simple but special, the soup had light savory flavour and tasted superb. Well for simple dish, they made it special.
My boyfriend's was
MIXED RICE
It was simple, hainanese rice which already tasty in savory served with lapciong (sweet pork sausage), crispy pork belly in savory flavour, ngohiang (pork roll which also had savory flavour), boiled egg, a pork satay which was sweet and a bit savory-sour veggie plus sliced cucumber. Nothing special, it was just ordinary Hainanese mixed rice.
And our side dishes were
KUOTIE
Kuotie is roasted pork dumpling. It had soft skin and much pork filling. Anyway guess the flavour? Correct, It was savory.
PORK CHOP WITH SPECIAL GLAZE GUO PAO
The second side dish which came late was glazed pork chop with guo pao (fried bun). We should open the folded bun first. The buns were crispy and soft. To eat it, we should fill the opened bun with the lettuce and glazed pork (soft crunchy texture, made by stirred, it had sweet flavour). Well, cute, it looked like sandwich. And i liked the flavour too.
For all the food i had that day, i think i'll give this pork house a buying recommendation, yes buy it, and what you must try first is the main dish i had, pork meesoa soup!
