Celebrating life is wonderful, and what better way to do it than by sharing a delicious dinner out with the family? That’s why we went to a restaurant called Baiana, a gastrobar located at 459 Carretera 26 A in the city of Cali. We took this opportunity to celebrate my niece’s birthday.
Baiana is a country house; the patio has been furnished with tables and chairs to turn it into a restaurant that also serves alcoholic beverages. The decor is attractive, and the entrance is colorful with an eye-catching design. Personally, I liked the fact that from the tables you can see what’s happening in the kitchen—a rustic space featuring a large wooden counter.
This place serves sushi, burgers, tostones, nachos, and quesadillas—a pretty varied menu with something for everyone. They had a special promotion that day, so we got to try all the dishes. They also offer a variety of drinks, which they prepare in a churuata; we ordered some mojitos.
The burgers had juicy meat and soft buns, and the vegetables were quite fresh. I really liked this combination of flavors. The quesadillas were also very good; the chicken and cheese blended together to delight the palate.
The fried corn tortillas (nachos) were perfectly cooked, topped with melted cheese, meat, and a bit of guacamole. We also ordered sushi—ten pieces of fish topped with vegetables—which we shared among everyone. They were fresh and delicious, and we enjoyed them with soy sauce.
The tostones were the highlight of the evening—crispy, generously topped with meat, and served with fresh vegetables—everything you’d expect from this dish. I really enjoyed them, as did the rest of the family; these are definitely the moments we cherish because we were together for this celebration.

Celebrar la vida es fantástico y que mejor forma de hacerlo que compartiendo en familia una deliciosa cena fuera de casa, por eso nos fuimos a un establecimiento comercial llamado Baiana, un gastrobar ubicado en la Carretera 26 A, número 459 de la ciudad de Cali. Aprovechamos esta ocasión para festejar el cumpleaños de mi sobrina.
Baiana es una quinta, el patio lo acondicionaron con unas mesas y sillas para convertirlo en un restaurant donde además se ofrecen licores. La decoración es atractiva, la entrada es colorida con un diseño que llama la atención. Personalmente me gustó el detalle de que desde las mesas se pueda observar lo que sucede en la cocina, una estructura rústica que posee un gran mesón de madera.
En este negocio ofrecen sushi, hamburguesas, tostones, nachos y quesadillas, un menú bastante variado para todos los gustos. Este día había una promoción, así que pudimos probar todos los platillos. También ofrecen diferentes bebidas, las cuales las preparan en una churuata, pedimos unos mojitos.
Las hamburguesas tenían una carne jugosa y el pan suave, en cuanto a los vegetales estaban bastante frescos. Me gustó mucho esta combinación de sabores. Las quesadillas también estaban muy buenas, pollo y queso se entrelazaban para regalar una caricia al paladar.
Las tortillas de maíz fritas (nachos) estaban en su punto, cubiertos con queso derretido, carne y un poco de guacamole. Además pedimos el sushi, diez trozos de pescado aderezados con vegetales que compartimos entre todos. Estaban frescos y deliciosos, los acompañamos con salsa de soya.
Los tostones fueron la sensación de la noche, crujientes con bastante carne encima y con vegetales frescos, todo lo que se espera de esta receta. Disfruté mucho, al igual que el resto de la familia, definitivamente son estos los momentos que atesoramos porque estuvimos juntos en esta celebración.
