Trying out the food at my sister's workplace

Yesterday, my sister and I both had our day off, which rarely happens because our schedules are always different. For a long time, we planned to go on a date together, but something always came up and our plan never happened. After my last shift at work, I went home because I'm too tired to go anywhere, and found her bored, doing nothing. So I said "let's go and try the food at your workplace!" She was too excited and in just a few minutes, she's already prepared to go out.

For the context, the reason why I chose to eat at the restaurant where she's working is because she's been bugging us for a quite some time now to eat there because of how nice the foods they serve are. Were just putting off going there because its too expensive as much as it tastes good.

But I want to teach my sister not to deprive herself of the good stuff because we deserve it. We are working hard to afford the stuff our parents couldn't afford to give us.

Anyway, her workplace is a Japanese fast-casual restaurant called Pepperlunch.

As soon as we arrived, the staff greeted us with "Irasshaimase!", which according to my sister is a Japanese word that means "Welcome!"or "Welcome to our store/restaurant!”.

Since it is only 4:30 pm that time, the place is not packed with customers yet. I only saw several people eating, which is good for me as someone who doesnt like noisy restaurants.

Then my sister instructed me to pick a seat and I let her take care of ordering since she knows how things works there.

She ordered two sets of Beef Aglio Olio which is one of her recommended dishes and I am craving for steak so I asked her to order their Giant Steak, not actually huge like a giant, that’s just what they call it. She also got two glasses of Coke.

Since she works there, we got a huge employee discount on the food. So instead of paying Php. 1,745 or roughly $29, we only paid Php. 1,246 or around $20. We also got a free 260 grams of Vietnamese rice as instructed by my sisters manager! He also came to our table to greet me. Most of my sister's coworker are friendly, specially since she's one the best employees there because she got regularized after just 2 months of working compared to her colleagues who were hired the same day as hers.

Finally, after few minutes of waiting, our food came. It was placed in a sizzling plate and the staff who served the food taught us how to eat it properly.

They also put in a large portion of beef on our Aglio Olio. It has an olive steak sauce and parmesan cheese on the side which customers which customers can add based on their preference.

It looks like this after being mixed altogether. I love the crispiness of the fried garlic as well. And the olive oil steak sauce also went well with the pasta. I suggest not to put in all the oil though because if you do that, you'll easily get tired of it. It's better to dip the beef one at a time if you want more.

After 5 more minutes, the steak also arrived. That is what I've been waiting for! It is mouth watering and my thoughts on steak finally changed because it is different from the steaks I had so far, maybe because it is more costly than what I had before. It costs around 900 pesos. And I like the mashed potato and corn on the side and the raw garlic complemented the taste.

It was a great dining experience so I made sure to leave a positive feedback for the staff.

As someone who works in customer service, I know how important feedbacks from customers are. Personally, I get all giddy and proud whenever I listen to my customer's positive feedback and I know that my sister and her coworkers will feel that way too if I leave a nice feedback for them. I don't know whether this is still a feedback or an essay though! LOL

Look at that happy kid! For sure, she won't bug me for a while after this.
