Hello Foodies Bee Hive Community, I welcome you to my blog again this beautiful Thursday morning.
I appreciate the warm welcome to the community last week and feel really excited to share another sumptuous recipe I made for my family yesterday. They have inspired me a lot to try new recipes, and it's fun hearing their reviews of my meal.In this post, I will share how to make plantain salad and hope everyone gets the process easily. A lot of us have enjoyed salad countless times and can tell about how yummy it is, so I decided to step things up with plantains, and the satisfaction that came with eating this recipe also stepped up a lot.
This recipe is perfect for any vegan who loves salad since it is rich in taste, and that's one of the things plantains bring to the table when called to the party. Plantains are a natural sweet food that is blessed with lots of nutrients, and I enjoy having them in different ways. Adding plantain salad to my plantain recipes would only make me increase my plantain consumption in the coming days.
Let me take you through the ingredients and process of making this sumptuous recipe.
Ingredients
600g of plantains.
110g of mayonnaise.
200g of cabbage.
2 pieces of eggs.
3g of chili powder.
1 teaspoon of lemon juice.
50g of green beans.
50g of kidney beans
100g of carrot.
Procedure
I started by cleaning the ingredients thoroughly before starting the preparation properly.
- I sliced the plantains into smaller pieces after removing the back and turned them into a pot.
I added the already-rinsed green beans and kidneys to the pot.
I added the clean eggs as well.
I added two cups of water and put the pot on fire to cook the plantains and others for fifteen minutes.
The purpose of boiling the ingredients I mentioned above is to ensure they are soft for consumption.
After they had properly cooked, I turned them into a basket to get rid of the water.
I set the basket aside and allowed the plantains to cool. While waiting for it to cool, I moved on to another process.
I chopped the cabbage into smaller pieces and grated the carrots.
I turned the cabbage and carrot into a container and added the plantains, green beans, and kidneys to the same container as well.
I added the 3g of chili powder because I love my salad a bit spicy.
I mixed the ingredients in the container together and added 110 g of mayonnaise.
I mixed the ingredients thoroughly with the mayonnaise and ensured all parts of the ingredients were covered in mayonnaise.
I added a teaspoon of lemon juice to give the salad a bit of a sour taste.
I also cut the boiled eggs into smaller sizes and turned them into the container as well.
I mixed these ingredients together again, and my salad is ready for consumption.
It can be served that way, but I always prefer it chilled to an extent, so I kept it in the fridge for a while before enjoying it with my family. The taste is awesome, I can confidently boast of the nutritional value, and I didn't regret trying this recipe out.
I hope you enjoy going through the process of making plantain salad. Thanks for reading.
