There are only two seasons in the Philippines : the hot and the rainy season. If you were to ask me, my favorite season is the rainy season.
Aside from being able to enjoy the cold breeze and enjoy the sound of the rain drops, the rainy season is the perfect time to stay at home, be close to family, and above all, the perfect time to eat and eat.
I was awakened by the sound of the squishing leaves and trees as they dance to the rhythm of the wind. I checked my phone for updates, classes are being suspended due to the low pressure area.
I then headed to the kitchen to cook some of my favorite snacks : ready to cook tempura and fries. I cooked a fair amount just for myself since my boys were still asleep.
I really love to eat fries when it is paired with salt and pepper, it is best dipped in spicy sauce and I love how the balance of the taste are. How pleasant to the tastebuds. This ready to eat tempura that I bought at a local grocery store here in our area is also something I look forward to eating.
Rainy weather makes you relax at home especially that our class got suspended. It is the perfect time to think about what else to do first among the piled up errands. After a few hours, my boys woke up.
We decided to cook some arrozcaldo or porridge since it is the perfect food to heat up our tummies.
My partner also made some garlic bits and some chili garlic oil which was a perfect sauce to our "arrozcaldo".
I am craving the "arrozcaldo" from Goto King located at the food court of SM City Mabolo, Cebu, Philippines. Every time I feel dizzy and neauseous after a long travel at stop by the north bus terminal located inside SM Mabolo grounds, I always stop by at Goto King to eat some "arrozcaldo".
Gladly, I have my own private cook at home who cooks whatever I request him to cook. Less hassle since I get to eat all the foods I want just in the comfort of our home.
After eating our arrozcaldo, we had watermelon for dessert.
After indulging into our hot and freshly-cooked "arrozcaldo", and our sweet watermelon, we went back to bed and took some nap.
