Filipinos have a great love for food and enjoy trying out new dishes. Tonight, we will be having one of our favorites - SUTUKIL.
SUTUKIL is a Cebuano short cut for SU - sugba TU- tuwa KIL- kilaw. “Sugba” is a Cebuano word which means to ”to grill”. “Tuwa” is a Cebuano word for ”fish soup” and “Kilaw” is a Cebuano word which means to eat raw fish salad.
SUTUKIL is popular in many restaurants across the Philippines and is known for its flavorful grilled fish soup and uncooked fish salad.
We have tried a lot of SUTUKIL Restaurants here in the Philippines but this time we will be trying it our here in Cordova Roro Port, Cordova, Cebu City, Philippines. There are a lot of SUTUKIL restaurants here in Cordova Roro Port and we chose to dine in here at HAYDEE’s BBQ AND TUNA
Whenever we crave fish and BBQ, this restaurant is our go-to spot. They also serve the most delicious tinolang isda , or fish soup, which we always order. I'd love to show you some of their seafood and other dishes they offer here at HAYDEE’S BBQ AND TUNA, a famous SUTUKIL restaurant here in Cordova, Philippines.
BBQ enthusiasts like us, rejoice! Drop by this must-visit spot in Cordova for a smokin' good time. The menu boasts a vast selection of meats, chicken, seafood, and more, all perfect for grilling. With prices that won't break the bank, you'll have plenty of options to choose from.
I spotted a fresh squid that's perfect for grilling while we were dining in, but couldn't inquire about its price since it wasn't what I wanted to order. If you're interested in the price, feel free to comment below or let me know if you'd like me to check it out next time we visit. I often write about our dining experiences and we often dine in here, so I could include it in my next blog.
TINOLANG ISDA or fish soup. This is what we came for here. Priced at ₱190.00, you will get a slice of fish and four pieces of shrimps. Sometimes they also have some shells to combine it with they will just maximize the serving. They will cook the fish soup for you and serve it altogether with all your other orders.
TUNA PANGA or TUNA JAW for ₱190.00
Other barbeque options like - pork meat, chicken meat and other seafoods.
Our order arrived after fifteen minutes of waiting.
During our dining experience here, we ordered only two dishes - the fish soup and tuna jaw.
As frequent diners, we bring our own rice cooker to avoid ordering hanging rice or rice. This is one of the best things about this place - they allow you to bring your own rice, which is a great way to save money.
This food spot is budget-friendly and saves me money. For just 190 pesos, I get a pot of delicious fish soup, which is a steal considering that fish typically costs 250 pesos per kilo or more at the market. Not to mention, I would also need to purchase vegetables, onions, tomatoes, and seasonings, which would add up quickly. With the cost of gas to cook the soup, it just makes sense for me to come here and enjoy a tasty, hot meal instead. I especially love coming here for dinner since it's located near the sea, and I can feel the cool breeze while I enjoy my meal. I'm not sure if they are open for lunch, though.
In addition to soda, they offer a variety of refreshing fruit shakes and juices, including lemonade. This provides a healthier option for those who want to enjoy a drink without compromising on health. The photo above displays the list of available drinks along with their prices. Opting for a fruit shake or juice is an excellent way to quench your thirst while also taking care of your health.
There are a lot of chairs available for customers who want to dine in, and it's very well-lighted, so you will be able to dine in here comfortably.
Since it's located just near the sea, you will feel the wind and the sea breeze, and also sometimes some people are caroling, so you might want to prepare your coins.
They are there to serenade you, and I believe a little bit of kindness won't hurt, so you might want to give some time a little if you have some spare money.
I would rate our dinner a solid 10 out of 10. In addition to the delicious food, I was impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant. They also accept Gcash for payments, which is a convenient option for those who prefer cashless transactions. It's always great to find establishments that offer this payment method, and I'm glad this restaurant is one of them.
Until my next food adventure. Ciao!☺︎♡
