Used hidden object and made first time Krumkake Norwegian delicacy.

cr8.jpg A long time back, I bought this krumkake pan, which was stored in the kitchen cupboard and buried under other equipment. Last week, while cleaning the kitchen, I found it and tried it first time. Normally, it is traditional Norwegian curved cakes filled with cream, chocolate, and different berries. and specially made for Christmas. But couldn't wait for it, so made it.

Greetings, friends, food lovers, and community.

I have been living in Norway for a long time, but I had never tried this traditional Norwegian dessert/snack which specially made for Christmas.
I didn’t look up any recipes online; instead, I decided to create my own. Krumkaker are a type of pancake, but unlike regular pancakes that are puffy and soft, krumkaker are thin and crispy and sweet. I used the ingredients I typically use for pancakes, along with a few extra ingredients in the batter.

The result was decent, and the taste was very good, but I wasn't completely satisfied. I plan to try making them again next time, using a traditional Norwegian recipe.
Ingredients:

1 cup white flour
2 eggs
350ml 2/3 cup of cream.saved 150 ml for filling.
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla essence.
1/3 cup of avocado oil
1/4 cup sugar,
200 grams of strawberries.

I mixed eggs and cream in a mixing bowl.
Beat it until combined.
Added 1/3 cup of avocado oil and beat to mix it.

cr1.jpg
Added salt and sugar.
Mixed it well using a wire whisk.

cr2.jpg
Added flour, baking powder, and vanilla.

A batter can be the same as pancake consistency.

heated a krumkake pan. It is electric, just plugged it into an electric outlet.

cr3.jpg
Poured 1 tbsp batter into the pan.
Pressed it for a few seconds, so the batter could spread on the pan.
When the green light indicated it was done.

There is a special wooden cone that forms a krumkake, called a krumkake roller.

cr4.jpg
Using a krumkake roller, made a few krumkake. it has to be quick action when it is on a warm pan.
It is very crispy, it will break as soon as it gets cool.
A little tricky work.

Cleaned strawberries and cut them in half, sprinkled a little sugar on them.

20250518_150846.jpg
Whipped saved 150 ml of cream. Added 1/2 tbsp sugar.

cr7.jpg
Then filled it with whipped cream and strawberry quarters.

and here they are.
Thank you.

Those pancakes look so yummy, I like the filling, I also love the design.

Wow, the krumkake looks amazing! I love how you gave it a try with a hidden object and ended up with such a tasty Norwegian treat. That crispy, sweet vibe sounds perfect. It’s awesome seeing you try new things in the kitchen.
