With my beard, soup is a struggle. I mean, unless I want to have a shower directly after eating the soup, or get some sort of food-service hair net for my beard to uh, put it away before I eat soup.
I like to throw (but not like a basketball player) a chicken (a whole chicken) into the slow cooker, with a bed of onion, and maybe some sliced mushroom and garlic. Then I take the cheapest packet of french onion soup mix, pour it on top of the chicken, put about 150ml of water on top of the powdery mix, put the lid on, and then walk away for about 6-8 hours.
When you come back, you have to work your way through copious amounts of bones, in order to shred up the chicken meat, but you can add lentils, beans, whatever (even rice) and you've got a hearty AF stock to consume, and a great liquid treat.
I might try it with bone broth instead of water at some point in the future, but its just a great wintery thing to eat.
