Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! | Sausages | Pasticho stuffed with sausages

Greetings dear friends, welcome to my blog. Today I am once again joining the weekly contest Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! | Sausages. For this week's challenge, I bought some Polish sausages—at least that's what the packaging said. They seemed pretty cheap, at 350 grams for $2.10. I couldn't resist, so I tried one, and they were actually delicious.

At first, I didn't know what to make for this challenge, but I'd been wanting to make lasagna with zucchini slices for days. I thought it would be interesting to combine sausages with vegetables and a touch of cheese. The recipe I decided to make was a zucchini pasticho stuffed with sausage and mozzarella cheese. I couldn't miss the béchamel sauce for a creamy texture. I hope you like it.

Ingredients


- 300 grams of sausages
- 300 grams of mozzarella cheese
- 700 grams of zucchini
- 90 grams of white onion
- 35 grams of tomato
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 30 grams of finely chopped seasonings (red bell pepper, sweet pepper, leek, and chives)
- 1 teaspoon of wheat flour
- ¾ of liquid cow's milk
- 1/3 tablespoon of nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon of pizza sauce
- 1 teaspoon of cumin
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoons oil

Preparation


1.-. We wash the zucchini and cut it into slices (lengthwise).

2.- On a griddle, add a teaspoon of oil and, using a paper towel, spread it over the entire surface. This will help spread the oil to prevent the zucchini from sticking. Then, place the zucchini slices on the griddle to grill on both sides over low heat. Once you've finished with all the slices, place them on absorbent paper and set aside.

3.- Prepare the béchamel sauce. Peel the garlic and onion. We will use one garlic clove and half the onion for this preparation. In the blender, add the onion and garlic, the liquid milk, the wheat flour, the nutmeg, and salt to taste. Blend until smooth, then pour into a saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens. Turn off the heat and set aside.

4.- We prepare the sauce with the sausages. First we remove the plastic wrap and then we proceed to grate them, we also grate the mozzarella cheese.

5.- We place the grated sausage in a pot, then add the seasonings, the chopped garlic, the dried oregano, a teaspoon of salt, the cumin and the turmeric.

6.- We remove the seeds from the tomato and the skin from the onion, wash them, chop them, and blend them with a little water. Then, we pour them into the pot with the seasoned sausage and add the teaspoon of pizza sauce. Let it cook and adjust the salt.

7.- We assemble the pasticho. We organize the ingredients, then, in a glass dish, we place the zucchini slices, the béchamel sauce, the sausage stew, and the cheese. We repeat the same steps until we finish all the slices. On the last layer, we add béchamel sauce and mozzarella cheese.

8.- We put the pasticho in the microwave until the cheese melts, approximately one minute and thirty seconds.
