This week I feel at a disadvantage in the contest because we haven't had water in the city for five days. Let's hope this situation is resolved soon. I would have liked to innovate in gastronomy by creating an unusual rice recipe. However, I had to adapt to the limited supply of this vital liquid, which is why I prepared a mixed rice dish with ingredients from the sea and land that I had at home. I was relieved and happy when I saw that rice was the ingredient of the week. I didn't go out to buy anything because I was really limited financially and also with the water service, but I didn't want to miss out on participating. I hope you like the recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups white rice
- 3 cups of water
- 230 grams of smoked pork chop
- 115 grams of chicken breast, diced
- 170 grams of clams (pepitonas)
- 64 grams carrots
- 90 grams of finely chopped seasonings (sweet chili pepper, green pepper, leek, and chives)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon of cumin
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- ½ cube of powdered chicken bouillon
- Salt to taste

Preparation
1.- Cut the smoked pork chop into cubes.

2.- We wash the clams with water and salt, then cut them in half.

3.-. Place the pork chop, chicken, and bell peppers in a pot. Remove the skin from the garlic, chop it finely, and add it to the pot.

4.-. Add two cups of water to the pot with the protein and garlic. Season to taste with salt, paprika, turmeric, and dried oregano. Also add ½ cube of powdered chicken bouillon. Cook over medium heat.

5.-. When it begins to boil, add the previously washed rice. Top up the water, adding one more cup.

6.-. Peel the carrot, cut it into small cubes, and add it to the rice.

7.-. Let the rice cook over low heat, with the pot covered, until the liquid has completely evaporated. It is recommended to adjust the salt during cooking.

We served our assorted rice, it was delicious.

I hope you liked it, this has been my participation in Hive Top Chef competition. See you another time.
