Everyone must have a place to go home to. I don’t mean home but something that comes first, whether it’s because of hunger or longing. Everyone on this earth must have one. Like this place, this food and this atmosphere. Something that can’t be described clearly, but feels very ‘homey’.

It is undeniable that rice is the most favorite food for many Indonesians, almost every day, no, every day even 3 times a day we eat with rice. Breakfast, lunch and dinner, all without exception. As the most popular carbohydrate, it needs other proteins from animal and plant based.

Well, Nasi Ayam Pecak Mas Mono, is a favorite restaurant that reaches the economy and tastes just right. The place is very simple and not so beautiful to look at, located on one of the roads that is quite often passed by trucks, so their target market is also not expensive food.

There are various menus here, but the most favorite is Ayam Pecak. Pecak can be interpreted as a simple chili sauce with chilies that are given tomato slices and then doused with hot oil. It tastes so good, but the spicy sensation is so challenging to the tongue. Don't expect to be able to enjoy it casually, maybe you will need 1-2 liters of water to reduce the spiciness of the chili sauce.

I bought 2 portions of grilled and fried pecak chicken, plus fried tempeh that had been coated with pecak chili sauce that was so spicy just for a moment looking at it. I even drooled and couldn't wait to eat this food one by one. I felt very hungry in the warm sunshine this afternoon. We were even given a glass of water with ice cubes and also cold tea with ice without sugar. It felt like getting water in the Sahara desert.

Eating here is really very comfortable even though it seems unhygienic. How could it not be, we are right next to a fairly large road and lots of trucks pass by, dust flying and a little noisy. But, I enjoyed it very well. Even so, I still added another piece of chicken breast, additional pecak chili sauce with extra spicy.

I think I'm really hungry. But, I guess it's just a matter of course. To find out where it is, you can go to the Ringroad artery, right near Castle Gym, Medan, North Sumatra.

Rice is life buddy. I wanna try indonesian food too. Hoping that someday i will given a chance to go there and try indonesian cuisine🤗

i hope you come to Indonesia, soon 😍

Indonesian and Filipino people have something in common. "Rice is life".😂.. I have met so many Indonesian friends when I was working in Singapore and that was when I learned to eat Indonesian food. One of my favorites is the ayam geprek and ayam penyet. It's been 3 years that I never eat those food since I'm back in Philippines. I saw tempeh also in your photo, Gosh I'm salivating..I also miss eating nasi padang, but I never try that ayam pecak for sure it's super delicious too..Indonesian food is even better than other Filipino foods. Wish I can find Indonesian resto from where I am now.. enjoy your day .

Countries in Asia are rice lovers even though there are many other types of carbohydrates. Real rice is life LOL.

This looks very delicious and so good because it was served with cucumber.
