In today's blog I will share recipe of my comfort food that I prepare whenever I am little lazy but still want to satisfy my test buds. It's a very old recipe that people are still making at Himachal and literally it takes 20 minutes to prepare. It's called Kadhi Chawal I believe anyone can prepare it easily and it tastes heavenly. If you have your own curd prepared at home then it's literally carry on cake cause the Kadhi made up of homemade curd is too good. In the famous cities and at the streets of India you will see people selling Kadhi chawal, Kadhi chawal has a huge fan base and now you can imagine how good it taste.
As a child, when I used to be alone at home I and have to prepare something for myself to eat, Kadhi chawal is the first thing that comes in my mind and I even like preparing it.
So let's starts the magical recipe of Kadhi chawal.
Ingredients:
1 Tomato
1 Onion
1 Green Chilli
Some Mustard oil
1 Spoon Cumin
1 Spoon Coriander
1 Spoon Turmeric Powder
1 Spoon Salt
250 gram Curd
Water
50 gram wheat flour
Procedure:
Wash tomato and cut it into pieces. Also
chop one onions.
Put some Mustard oil in kadhai and let it heat. After the always a specific temperature at some cumin and then chopped onions to it.
Let the onions turn golden brown. It will take 2 minutes.
Now add tomatoes do it and at some turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt to it.
When the mixture turns golden brown like this now you have to add carefully some gram flour to it.
Mix it very well, it should get mix properly it's the base of your curry and it should be perfect in every sense. So keep mixing it for 3 to 4 minutes while keeping the flame low so that it didn't get burn.
This is how the mixture will look ultimately proper mixing it.
I am showing you guys the Curd that I have used, it's a verka Curd a very famous dairy brand in India.
This is how it will look, now you have to give boiling it for 5 minutes straight.
Now it's turn to add some green coriander leaves to it so chop the leaves and added into the Kadhi.
And this is how your Kadhi will look after heating it properly for 5 minutes straight and adding some coriander leaves to it.
It's time to make some rice.
Ingredients :
1/2 kg white rice
Procedure:
Take some rice in a bow and wash it properly.
Keep washing until the milky water turn clear.
Now put the utensil the stop and cover it with plate. Let the rice cook for 15 minutes and do not disturb it. After 15 minutes this is how your rice will look.
Now you are tasty Kadhi chawal is ready and here is how it looks.
