Hello everybody out there!
How are you all?
I'm back again and this time, the recipe is quite interesting and you necessarily don't have to be in kitchen to prepare it. As you all know in India , we have lots of spices and honestly we keep experimenting with them and recently with a fruit call grapefruit I did something similar. It's not that I have prepare something just by my own imagination, i'm not that good but I knew it cause I have seen people around me making this tasty and unique flavourful recipe. We have our own farms which grow number of fruits and vegetables and this fruit is extracted straight out of my farm.

Fruit chat is popular among indians and it is mostly eaten either during big winter on a sunny day or during the summers. You just have to add fresh fruits with tangy spices. It is famous in north india but nowadays as everything is on internet so people are trying it , and they are really loving it. I have taken only grapefruit. You can add number of fruits according to your like and dislike.

So let me show you how I prepared it with some ingredients easily available at home.

Ingredients

1 Grapefruit
1 Spoon Rock Salt
1/2 Spoon Chat Masala
1 Spoon Red Chilly Powder
1/2 Spoon normal salt
1/2 Spoon Coriander Power
1 Spoon Sugar
1/2 Spoon dry mango powder
1/2 Spoon lemon juice

Procedure

Take a grapefruit and wash it properly. The size of fruit I have taken is enough for 2. It is rich in fiber, vitamins-c and antioxidants. Its really good for you overall health and good for skin and hair too. Well honestly, something i eat it just by thinking that my skin will glow after having it and I also love my hairs and I keep making different oils by watching youtube video but as everybody is now aware that we have to nourish ourselves from inside by eating healthy so tjis recipe is my favourite and I enjoy it too much.

Let it dry properly and then you can cut it into half, just like i did. The knife should be sharp but be careful.

In these pictures you can see how clearly i have divided ot into two parts. Now its time to take out all the seeds from it.

And here is a box that we call masaldani. You will see this in every indian household and it is use to keep all the Ingredients and spices in it.

Here are some of the pictures I have clicked to show you the Ingredients I have in masaldani and we use regularly in our food. The masaldani looks so colorful and the taste you get by adding all these ingredients into your food in unmatched.

This masaldani holds different spices such as Haldi, salt coriander powder, red chilly powder, garam masala( it is prepared by mixing number of spices and by grinding them well) It enhances the taste and it's also good for your immunity. The masaldani looks so colourful isn't it?

After peeling down the a fruit, you need to separate the edible part. And also , you have to cut it into pieces.

After separating all the seeds and cutting the edible parts into small pieces this is how its going to look.

IMG-20250525-WA0012.jpg

Now it's time to add all the spices which include red chilli powder, Chaat masala, rock salt, normal salt, coriander powder, mango powder and sugar.

IMG-20250525-WA0014.jpg

You can skip some of the spices according to your taste, but can't skip sugar and lemon juice. Its main ingredient and without it it will be incomplete.

Here's the final look, some people also make green tangy chutney along with it but my spice tolerance level isn't that great so i didn't prepare it for myself.

In Indian you will see fruit chat in every gathering, even it's also a very famous fruit chat. Eaten and loved by people of different age group this fruit chat has special home in everybody's heart. Compared to other street fruit its 1000 time better.

Now, you might be guessing that how it taste?

It's mixture of sweet salty tangy and spicy. There should be a balance of all otherwise it won't taste good. This is the only this that we have to take care. Its not a difficult one to prepare, anyone who have all these ingredients can easily make it.

This recipe is quite famous in Himachal as everybody have their own farm and they grow fruits. I have this memory from childhood where we(me and my family)used to sit in sun during winters, everything around is covered in snow and we use to have long chit chat while making it and having it. These are among some of the special memories from my childhood. Also the recipe is easy to prepare, it hardly takes 10 minutes and if you have a helping hand then hardly more then 5 minutes.

I have taken all these pictures by myself with my camera Sony ZVE-10 and couldn't take my own pictures as I was alone there. Hope you enjoyed and learned something new.

Thanks for reading.
See you soon.
