Hey there, fellow foodies! Thai foods are probably one of the most versatile cuisine there is out there. From pad thai and mango sticky rice to exotic foods like bamboo worms and crickets, they are remarkably unique from other cuisines.
My friends and I tried Thai Cuisine restaurant in Tops Cebu since most of us haven't tried Thai foods yet. We ordered pork barbecue, laksa, pad thai, pork kawali, and mango sticky rice. They say that the pad thai in this restaurant is the best.
One of the unique feature of thai dishes is their use of many kinds of herbs and spices. true enough, their barbecue tastes different from that of Filipino barbecue; their sauces have distinctive taste that i cant even describe.
The place was so cozy since its in an overlooking view. Unfortunately, i wasn't able to take much photos of the view because we were busy talking and eating. Next time i visit Tops, Cebu, I will surely take more photos.
Our conversations went from favorite childhood cartoon TV shows to horror stories in the province. We almost forgot to eat the mango sticky rice since it was served last.
The sticky rice didn't come with condensed milk like how it's commonly served but it still taste delicious. It reminds me of the Sikwate and Budbod, a filipino dish made of sticky rice paired with hot chocolate.
Asian cuisine, whether it be Thai, Korean, Japanese, or Filipino, I believe they all have similarities with a hint of variances. One this that distinguishes Asian cuisine from others is our love for rice. So im learning to embrace other not so popular Asian cuisines in the Philippines, like Vietnamese or Indian, because its one of the ways to get to know that country.
Overall, Thai foods exceeded our expectations as we all had a sumptuous dinner.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Sending some hugs and kisses
Love, Jane
