Hello dear Hivers,

Today was one of those days when we arrived home later than expected. Everyone was tired, a bit hungry, and we didn’t have the luxury of spending too much time preparing dinner. So I had to think fast and choose a dish that’s quick, easy, and still delicious—and immediately, one idea came to mind: my Special Bam-i. This dish has always been one of our household favorites, and it never fails to save the day.
I started by preparing all the ingredients. I chopped the onions, minced the garlic, sliced the bell peppers, beans, and shredded the cabbage and carrots. These colorful vegetables are not only beautiful to look at, but they also give the dish a fresh, vibrant flavor. After that, I moved on to the meat. I sliced the pork into small cubes so it would cook faster and absorb the flavors better.

Once everything was ready, I heated the pan and placed the pork in first. I waited patiently until the meat turned brown and started releasing its natural juices—that’s when the aroma really starts to come alive. Then I added the garlic, onions, and bell peppers, letting them sauté until they became fragrant and slightly caramelized. This is one of my favorite parts of cooking, when the smell fills the whole kitchen and makes everyone excited for what’s coming next.

After sautéing, I poured in some water and waited for it to boil. The moment it reached a rolling boil, I added the sotanghon noodles and let them soften. Once the sotanghon was nearly cooked, I added the canton noodles and mixed everything together until both noodles absorbed the flavorful broth. When the noodles reached the perfect soft-but-not-mushy texture, I added the cabbage and carrots for that fresh crunch and natural sweetness.
To bring everything together, I sprinkled in some pepper powder—just enough to enhance the flavor and give the dish a hint of spiciness. And at last, after a few more minutes of simmering, it was done.

My Special Bam-i was finally ready to serve! Warm, noodle-filled, flavorful, and comforting—just what we needed after a long day. This dish is best enjoyed while it's still hot, when the flavors are at their richest.
Thank you dear Hivers for taking the time to read. I hope you find joy by reading my blog today.
