Oh my gosh I am so proud. And the strawberry slices actually balanced out the flavors beautifully! YUMYUMYUM. We'll test the big cake today!
Strawberry with chocolate normally a great finishing touch, enjoy the cake you should all enjoy the sugar buzz.... π
the caramel icing was delicious but very sweet. the chocolate cake batter was a lovely dark sponge just like I like it, but Zak prefers a sweeter icing than I do (I normally replace some of the butter with cream cheese and use less icing sugar and more cocoa in the original recipe). The strawberries (thinly sliced) just did exactly what was needed to compliment the icing. Super stoked as I didn't plan that beyond them looking pretty.
Caramel is something loved in the home here, not bought very often as it really twists ones arm without having to say much! When young we had to boil a tin of condensed milk for hours to enjoy, now they sell if off the shelf, too much temptation!
Taste counts, having the odd day with sweetness overload one turns a blind eye...
Oh I hear you. It got me through a few teenage breakups ππonce that lid is off I can eat a whole tin in one go! It's a bit harder when you mix it with buttercream icing though :p
Special treat peppermint, caramel pie, let's crumble forget those diets.... π
