Hello foodies welcome to my blog🤗.
Where are my plantain lovers?😋😋
How do you love your plantain? Do you love it fried, boiled, porridge or chips??
Here is a very simple and healthy snack recipe..
INGREDIENTS:
5 big Unripe Plantains
Pinched of salt
Vegetable oil ( use enough oil according to the size of your frying pan)
1/4 tbs Pepper spice
Vegetable slicer
PROCEDURE:
For healthy meals, ensure your kitchen is clean and every equipment you will be using
Before we start, make sure you wash your hands with soap and water under running water because we will be using our hands more in the process.
STEP 1:
Wash the unripe plantain very well . Ensure its clean and then pat dry it with a clean kitchen towel.
STEP 2 :
Peel off the planintain. Peeling the back off an unripe plantain is really tough; I recommend that you do it gradually, without rushing the process.Take your time peeling it because it can be very sticky on your palm.
Here's how to avoid it being sticky. Before you begin peeling the plantain's back, apply a small amount of vegetable oil to your palms. Place the peeled plantain into a clean bowl or plate.
STEP 3 :
Use the vegetable chopper to slice the plantain into desired size, it has to be very thin in order to get that crunchy taste.
There are different choppers and slicers, any one can serve as long as it slices the plantains. If you are an expert in sliceing with knife you can as well use knife.
STEP 4 :
Pour vegetable oil into pan, heat it on medium heat, when its hot, ypu can start frying the plantains in batches. Avoid putting in too much plantain at a time so it can fry very well and give you that crunchy taste.
STEP 5:
Stir consistently as you fry the plantain. When its golden brown qnd looks crunchy, you can stop frying.
Sprinkle salt and pepper spice immediately you bring it out from the pan. Turn the chips so the salt and pepper and mix together. Leave it to cool of for sime minutes before storing it.
Plantain Chips is ready for you to snack on😋.
Note:
Chips are best stored in an air tight container inorder for ir not to loose it's crunchyness.
I hope you liked the recipe, do well to try it out, i will be glad if you do😊
