Quise traerles uno de esos platos que huelen a casa y reúnen a cualquiera alrededor de la mesa.
Un arroz amarillo sencillo, económico y lleno de sabor, perfecto para esos días en que queremos comer rico sin complicarnos, pero sin renunciar al buen gusto.
Es de esos platos que, cuando llegan a la mesa, iluminan los rostros. En casa es uno de los más codiciados.

I wanted to share with you one of those dishes that smells like home and brings everyone together around the table.
A simple, inexpensive, and flavorful yellow rice, perfect for those days when we want to eat well without fuss, but without sacrificing good taste.
It's one of those dishes that, when it arrives at the table, lights up faces. At home, it's one of the most coveted.


Ingredientes

  • 1 libra de arroz
  • 6 salchichas
  • 1/2 libra de lomo ahumado
  • 1 cebolla
  • 1 ají pimiento
  • 4 dientes de ajo
  • 2 cucharadas de puré de tomate
  • 2 cucharadas de vino seco
  • Comino
  • Pimienta
  • Pimentón dulce
  • 1 hoja de laurel
  • Sal
  • Aceite

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of rice
  • 6 sausages
  • 1/2 pound of smoked pork loin
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato puree
  • 2 tablespoons of dry wine
  • Cumin
  • Pepper
  • Sweet paprika
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt
  • Oil

Piqué la cebolla, el ají pimiento y machaqué los ajos.

I chopped the onion, the bell pepper, and crushed the garlic.

También corté las salchichas y el lomo ahumado.

Also cut the sausages and the smoked pork loin.

En un sartén calenté un poco de aceite y sofreí primero el ajo. Luego incorporé la cebolla y el ají pimiento.

In a frying pan, I heated a little oil and sautéed the garlic first. Then I added the onion and the bell pepper.

Cuando la cebolla estuvo transparente, añadí las salchichas y el lomo ahumado para que se integraran bien los sabores.

When the onion was translucent, I added the sausages and smoked pork loin so that the flavors would blend well.

Agregué el puré de tomate, el vino seco, pimienta, comino, pimentón dulce, la hoja de laurel y sal al gusto.

I added the tomato puree, dry wine, pepper, cumin, sweet paprika, bay leaf, and salt to taste.

En la olla puse el arroz ya enjuagado y vertí encima todo el sofrito. Lo dejé cocinar 15 minutos.

I put the rinsed rice in the pot and poured the sofrito over it. I let it cook for 15 minutes.

Al destapar… ¡estaba perfecto! Lo serví con una ensalada de col y pimientos.

When I uncovered it… it was perfect! I served it with a cabbage and pepper salad.
