Lunch with friends is very rarely done because schedules vary from day to day. And this afternoon we decided to have lunch together considering that next week we have a 2 week long holiday to welcome the Ramdahan fast in Indonesia. It's not too far for lunch today, only 1 kilometer from the school where I teach. My friend and I did this so that we could be more efficient with our time so that we didn't travel too long. Another reason why we chose this stall is because this stall sells a large selection of food ranging from rice, soup, meatballs and other dishes.
This food stall is called Warung Arjuna. Arjuna himself is taken from wayang stories or folk tales in Indonesia, more precisely in Java. This stall predominantly sells various kinds of meatballs which are served as a buffet. You can take whatever meatballs you want into your bowl, then hand it over to the cashier to calculate the price per portion. After that we will be directed to another waiter so that we can get the broth. And this type of meatball buffet is currently very popular in my city because we are free to choose how many meatballs and at what price we want according to our pockets.
However, as I said above, it's not just meatballs, there are many other menu choices. because this is the lunch schedule, rice is the right choice and all my friends agree with this. After all, rice is our staple food, so almost the majority of Indonesian people will eat rice with different menus every day. So, for lunch, we decided to choose the fried duck menu, which is also a favorite menu at Café Arjuna.
Some were injured but not bleeding when our order arrived. Why do I say that because the fried duck I ordered was very small compared to when we first came. But even so, the taste has not changed and is still delicious. The duck skin looks dry on the outside but the meat on the inside is very soft and the spices are perfectly absorbed. In one portion of the duck there are fresh vegetables or raw vegetables such as young cabbage, and cucumbers, sometimes there are also basil leaves there, but currently I don't get them.
Apart from raw vegetables or fresh vegetables, one portion of duck is provided with a fairly large portion of rice and of course what you don't miss is the chili sauce which tastes quite spicy. However, if you don't like it, you can skip the chili sauce because the chili sauce is made in a separate place. And 1 portion of fried duck is priced at Rp. 15,000 or 1 U$ dollar. The price is quite cheap, right? And you can enjoy 1 free glass of warm mineral water here. Oh yes, and there is also additional soup which contains cow's swallows.
Apart from the food, this place is also very comfortable and very clean, there are several types of seating there, starting from the leishan or even the sofa. You can choose according to what you want. Apart from being comfortable, this place is also clean and served quickly. Do you think this place is recommended and is the price very affordable for this portion? Greetings from me maytom, Indonesia
