Qurator's: Hive Top Chef! Fruit / Pear Mice [ENG-ESP]

Hello,my dear friends. Welcome to my kitchen!

It is my pleasure to present my entry in the Qurator's “Hive Top Chef” contest, which requires that the main ingredient be fruit. For this occasion, I have created “Pear Mice.” This dessert combines fruit cooked in a rich syrup and is presented with colored sprinkles and a piece of cheese (because mice without cheese are not mice, ha ha ha), and by the way, the combination of cheese and brown sugar is delicious. And although these recipes are not part of my daily life, I like to recreate them with the little ones in mind.

Below, I share the ingredients used and the step-by-step instructions:

Es un gusto presentar mi participación en el concurso Qurator's "Hive Top Chef", cuya preparación debe incluir: "Fruta"; como ingrediente principal. Para esta ocasión, he creado unos "Ratoncitos de Pera". Este postre combina la fruta cocida en un rico almíbar y se presenta con chispas de colores y un trozo de queso (porque ratoncitos sin queso no son ratoncitos jajaja) y de paso la combinación de queso con papelón es deliciosa. Y aunque estas recetas no forman parte de mi dia a dia, si me gusta recrearlas pensando en los más pequeños.

A continuación, comparto los ingredientes utilizados y el paso a paso:

Pelé las peras cuidando de no quitar los rabitos, pués éstos serán las colitas de los ratoncitos.

Peel the pears, taking care not to remove the stems, as these will be the tails of the mice.

Rallé el papelón para medir exactamente las cucharadas y no excederme en la cantidad. Luego en una olla puse el agua, el papelón, el azúcar,el poquito de la canela en polvo a fuego medio a cocinar, dejé hasta que estuvieron suaves,la idea es que tomaran un colorcito marrón.

I grated the brown sugar to measure the tablespoons accurately and not exceed the amount. Then, in a pot, I put the water, brown sugar, sugar, and a little cinnamon powder over medium heat to cook. I left it until it was soft; the idea is for it to turn a light brown color.

Una vez cocidas, saqué las peras de la olla y dejé enfriar. Dejé cocinando el líquido restante hasta que espesó y obtuvo la consistencia de álmibar.

Once cooked, I removed the pears from the pot and let them cool. I left the remaining liquid to cook until it thickened and reached a syrupy consistency.

Ahora con el cuchillo, quité una parte de las peras para que se mantengan en el plato, cuidando que al cortar los rabitos quedaran hacia arriba.

Now, using the knife, I removed part of the pears so that they would stay on the plate, taking care to cut so that the stems were facing upwards.

Es momento de formar los "Ratoncitos de Pera". Sequé un poco las peras con servilleta suavemente antes de decorar. Para los ojos utilice los clavos de olor y las pasas para la nariz. Para las orejas, hice pequeños cortes superficiales en los extremos de las gomitas para que se pegaran. Luego tomé parte del almíbar que quedó en la olla y bañé las peras con cuidado.

It's time to make the “Pear Mice.” I gently dried the pears with a napkin before decorating them. I used cloves for the eyes and raisins for the nose. For the ears, I made small superficial cuts at the ends of the gumdrops so they would stick. Then I took some of the syrup left in the pot and carefully coated the pears.

Corté un triángulo de queso, para colocarlo en el plato y terminé de decorar con las chispitas de colores.

I cut a triangle of cheese to place on the plate and finished decorating with the colored sprinkles.

Pear Mice looks sweet and cute at the same time. Look at that tiny raisins eyes and cute red ears. That was a hard task @mergusa88, putting raisins and cloves to form the nosea and eyes, respectively. Plus the peeling of pears without removing the stem, one wrong move and the tail will be gone. But you nailed it. You are a good cook. The recipe is perfect and sweet. This is not only an entry to the contest nor a recipe.
