Hi guys, this is my first time posting in this community and I'm super excited to share my baking journey with you all.
I made some butter cookies this morning and decided to share the recipe with you guys. The taste and the texture were perfect.
I woke up quite early today and then went back to bed an hour later and woke up past 11am. I actually had breakfast before going back to bed, I was so bored I had nothing to do.
I remembered I had some leftover flour and butter at home so I decided to keep myself busy and make something. I initially wanted to make the normal African pancake ( it's totally different from the normal pancake). I went out to get fresh pepper, but they didn't have it at the store, and I didn't want to go any further, so I only got eggs and decided to bake some butter cookies.
This was actually my first trial and it came out really nice, even better than I had expected. The ingredients are so simple and so not complicated.
Ingredients
Butter 150g
Flour 160g
Sugar 70g ( you can add more if you like.)
Vanilla Flavour
1 Egg yolk
Powdered Milk( this is optional, but it will definitely take your cookies to the next level. I didn't add any for mine)
A pinch of salt
Baking powder ( I didn't measure, but just a little would do the trick)
Materials
Baking paper
Piping bag
Piping nozzle
Bowl
Spatula
I don't have an oven yet, so I put some sand in a big pot, then cover it up with paper. Put the pot on fire, allow it to heat up for some time, and you're good to go.
The measurement I used for sugar isn't accurate, so to make it even sweeter, you can make your sugar 100g. The truth is that I don't like sugary things so I always try my best to keep it mild .
The first step is mixing your sugar and butter together. Make sure not to mix for too long because you want it to get a thick consistency. After mixing, add your egg yolk and flavor, then mix until fully combined.
Now mix all your dry ingredients together in one bowl, and add to your butter mixture.
It's easier to mix if you add in batches, instead of adding everything all at once.
Now fix your nozzle into your piping bag, and put the mixture into the bag.
Place your baking paper on a tray, and then pipe the dough on it. You can make it whatever size and shape you want. It all depends on what you like. For me, I just piped it like I was making a rose..... After this step, you're supposed to keep it in the fridge for at least 30mins so it has a firm texture and won't melt too much while baking, but if you don't have a fridge, then you can as well bake it immediately,, it's not really a big deal. I baked mine immediately since I don't have a fridge.
Now the thing is I totally forgot to set the timer, so let's just say 10min or max 15min is enough to bake the cookies. Make sure the oven is hot enough and is on low heat. You can open it to check, and make sure you remove it from the oven once they're starting to get brown.
So there you have it, my simple butter Cookies recipe. And the best part is that I got more than 50 cookies from this recipe
I loved how buttery and soft it tasted, but by tomorrow when it's all settled, I bet it would taste even better.
I hope you do get to try this recipe 😉 and thanks for stopping by 🤗
