Boodle fight for dinner with family

Good day food lovers!!!!
What's up hivers?Happy new year everyone ,wishing and praying for a prosperous new year to each and everyone.Wishing for a happiness and more blessings.

Holiday season is done and most of the people who had their vacation are now back to work.And that's what my husband's nephew did.

He came home last December 23 for a holiday vacation and now he is back to work .

But before he back to Manila where we works,he spend his time and money for the whole family.

He told me that were having a boodle fight for dinner.Anyway boodle fight is our way of having meal with the whole family.In this kind of set up ,were all having fun and it only gave us few amount of dishes to wash haha.

So he went to the market to buy some fish ,pork ,watermelon and vegetables.
We also had chicken from our backyard .

For this family dinner ,family members give their efforts on preparing the food.

I am the one who cooked the chicken adobo,my husband's 2 nephews are preparing for the grilled pork and fish.
And for the vegetables I am also the who cooked it ,and my nephew for the fried eggplant and hotdog.

And for the table I asked their help for preparing it and much better if we had our boodle fight outside the house.

And here's what we had for our dinner.

I was too busy on the kitchen and forgot to take some photos on preparing for it.I only had this one photo for the other things we will be serve for our boodle fight.

My son lead the prayer and the boodle fight begin.
Anyway boodle fight is our traditional way of having our meal with the meal were we don't used kitchen utensils,we only had the banana leaves and put all the food we prepare.

And this is what it looks after we eat haha.

After having our dinner I went to the kitchen to clean and washed the utensils I used on preparing for our dinner.
See ,I only had a few dishes to wash haha.

And that's it for our boodle fight for dinner.

I have only read about boodle fight from a fellow hiver, and I love the recipes used for the meal.

I think it is such a beautiful thing to have our large family enjoying a meal over a large table.

Hello friend @mitch18! I assure you that as soon as I saw your first photo my mouth was watering. What a spectacular dinner, so many varied dishes in one, fruits combined with salty is something spectacular. Yes, I would like to live that beautiful experience, although I don't know if eating without cutlery is part of the ritual, but for me it means trust, love, familiarity and happiness, more freedom. These are adjectives that I could not define, but that made me imagine all the members of my family in Venezuela, sharing a meal like this. Thank you for bringing us this beautiful part of your culture.

Qué espectacular cena, tantos platos variados en uno solo, frutas combinadas con el salado es algo espectacular. Sí, que me gustaría vivir esa experiencia tan hermosa, porque no sé si lo de comer sin cubiertos forma parte del ritual, pero para mí, eso significa, confianza, amor, familiaridad y felicidad, más libertad.
