Meet the "Pepito", does it exist in your country? [English subtitles]

The sandwich is perhaps one of the culinary elements that has more variants, in fact, I would say that the chances of inventing a new one every day is quite high because there are many factors that influence the production of variants. For example, if you live in a cold country the ingredients vary compared to those of a warm country. The geography and vegetation of the country also have an influence, but perhaps the most important thing is the particular taste of each person, in the end I think that is the most determining factor.

Here in Venezuela there are several types of sandwiches, but the one I present today is called "Pepito". It is very popular since it is usually sold in all fast food places where they sell hot dogs and hamburgers, but it is usually more expensive since the bread is usually large and has a lot of ingredients. Obviously there are several types of pepitos and it depends on the place where you buy it. In this case we visited a place called "Wild Dogs" in the Parque Los Aviadores shopping mall and that is where we bought it.

As you can see in the pictures, the pepito consists of a big long bread which, in this case, is filled with chicken, potatoes, lettuce, tomato, different sauces and yellow cheese. In other versions of this sandwich we find that it can contain meat, pork, bacon, egg, caramelized onion, among others, but as I mentioned before, the possibilities are endless.
