What a good looking boiled turnip is, isn't it? And it's a grandmother's recipe so it's a plus.

I'm going to have to follow the instructions to the letter, and just out of curiosity I would add tomato sauce.

        Yes, it's an old recipe, maybe more than a few hundred years. Farmers ate this food in winter.
        Of course, you can add whatever you think is appropriate. I added one teaspoon of tomato paste, which is more for color. You will tell if it was good. 😎👍
