Hello, fellow food lovers! Happy Sunday to everyone.

It was my first time dining at the Hong Kong City restaurant, but not my first time trying their Chinese food, since my dad has been bringing home their special Chinese rice and chop suey for lunch every now and then on Sundays, and I must say it tasted exquisite.

I went with Ricardo. It has a pleasant atmosphere, modern facilities, and good lighting. I was particularly struck by the bar, which offers a wide variety of whiskeys. All the tables were set—all that was missing was the food. We were suggested to sit at a small table because they were expecting many diners that day since it was Sunday, although to be honest, I would have preferred a larger table even though there were only two of us.

The menu was very varied, but we chose a family-sized dish that was enough for two people. It included Chinese rice, and we could choose our own sides. We chose coleslaw and fried chicken, but there were also other options available, such as french fries and spring rolls. For drinks, we chose two Nestea beverages—one peach and one lemon.

Before bringing our food, they served us some sauces; from the looks of them, one seemed to be sweet and sour and the others tomato-based. To be honest, I didn’t want to try any of them that day, and I didn’t, but it’s nice to know they’re available to accompany the different menu options.

Our order arrived; for me, it was too much food, even though it was a single serving. The waiter kindly divided the food among our plates. The rice was good, but I felt it lacked flavor—perhaps the taste of the bits of meat, chicken, and pork—since it wasn’t anything special. The last one I had tasted incomparable. The chicken was crispy and well-seasoned, but I would have liked it to have more chicken than batter. Finally, the salad was delicious; I really like cooked salad, and this one had a good amount of mayonnaise and a creamy consistency.

I don’t know if I’d go back to this restaurant, but I still have a better experience with takeout than with the food I eat there.

Era mi primera vez comiendo en las instalaciones del restaurante Hong Kong City más no mi primera vez degustando su comida china, ya que a mi papá últimamente le gusta llevar el arroz chino especial y chop suey uno que otro domingo para almorzar y debo decir que su sabor era exquisito.

Fuí acompañada de Ricardo, tiene un ambiente agradable, instalaciones modernas y con buena iluminación, me llamó mucho la atención su bar con gran variedad de whiskys, todas las mesas tenían los platos puestos en ellas solo faltaba que la comida fuera servida, se nos sugirió comer en una mesa pequeña porque ese día se esperaban muchos comensales por ser domingo, aunque si les soy sincera me hubiera gustado una mesa más grande aunque fuéramos solo dos.

El menú era muy variado, pero nosotros elegimos un plato personal que traía cantidad suficiente para dos personas este incluía arroz chino y los contornos podían ser de nuestra preferencia, elegimos ensalada cocida y pollo frito, pero también habían otras opciones disponibles como papas fritas y lumpias, de bebida preferimos dos nesteas una de durazno y otra de limón.

Antes de traer nuestra comida, nos sirvieron algunas salsas, por su aspecto una parecía agridulce y las otras de tomate, a decir verdad este día no quería probar ninguna y no lo hice, pero que bueno saber que están disponibles para acompañar las distintas opciones del menú.

Llegó nuestro pedido, para mi era demasiada comida y eso que era una porción personal, el mesero amablemente distribuyo la comida en nuestros platos, el arroz estaba bueno pero sentía que le faltaba más gusto quizás ese sabor de los trocitos de carne, pollo y puerco ya que no era especial, el último que comí tenía un sabor incomparable, el pollo estaba crocante y bien condimentado pero me hubiera gustado que fuera más pollo que harina y finalmente la ensalada buenísima, me gusta mucho la ensalada cocida y más que tenía una buena cantidad de mayonesa y estaba cremosa su consistencia.

No se si volvería a este restaurante, pero sigo teniendo una mejor experiencia en la comida para llevar que la comida que deguste en el lugar.
