To celebrate major holidays, I always prepare a variety of delicious baked goods at home. Cookies are one way to make the celebration extra special.

Hi, foodies! As usual, we just celebrated Eid al-Adha yesterday, and I made a special batch of cookies at home for the occasion. I’ve actually been wanting to make these cookies for a long time. Because of their cute shape and, of course, the fact that they’re made with an ingredient many people love. As you can see in the picture, they’re shaped like coffee beans—and they’re actually made with coffee, though naturally combined with other cookie ingredients. Besides their shape, they also have a distinct coffee aroma, so you’ll really love them.

Well, the ingredients are quite simple, and shaping them won’t take long since the design is straightforward and easy to make. Curious about the preparation steps? Let’s take a look at the step-by-step process.

Ingredients

6 grams instant coffee (ground)
15 grams warm water
100 grams margarine
80–90 grams powdered sugar
1 egg yolk
160 grams low-protein flour
15 grams cocoa powder
25 grams cornstarch

Preparation Procedure

Brew the coffee with warm water for just a moment, stir until well combined, and set aside. You may also substitute the water with warm milk.

Mix again by hand until the dough is no longer sticky and easy to shape.

Take 1 standard teaspoon of dough, shape it into a ball, then make a hole in the center with a knife or spoon to form a coffee-like shape.

Result

Look at the result—it’s so beautiful! Coffee cookies really do turn out this pretty; they all look so cute and resemble real coffee beans. I love that the color isn’t black but rather coffee-colored—just imagine the real thing looking like this. However, if you want them to look as similar as possible, you might want to make them a bit larger.

I absolutely love the combination—just imagine the aroma, so fragrant and delicious to smell. Uhh, the scent of coffee always makes it impossible for me to resist. It’s perfect, and the result has made me so happy—it feels like today is going perfectly.
