Do you delete the cooking photos afterward or keep them? Once we upload it's available on the web, yes. But I still feel like keeping the final pictures of the cooking and planting.
Tell me I'm not the only one.
There's a story behind it. Let me tell you my plate stories.
I wouldn't claim my planting is top-notch or close to professional planting and even the photos are dull. But this is what I have and these are creating memories.
A few years ago when we were at a family reunion and everyone was talking about my late father, then all of a sudden it came to his last meal (or the meals he had in a few days before he passed away).
Here people believe that a person can smell his death and when they do they ask for their loved ones, try to do or recall their favorite things, and ask for their favorite meal.
Unfortunately, my mom was taking care of my father all alone in his last days. My brother and I were both away at our university in a different city.
And, my mom had her government job back then so she used to go to work and then from evening used to take care of my father. She couldn't make sure to cook or provide the meals my father asked for in his last days. And she can't even remember some of the things he asked for as she was having some busy days.
Now obviously, she regrets it.
This is not only a story to me but a life lesson, a deeply impactful feeling.
So I provided the food my family asked for. I try my best. I take photos to not just share with you but to keep the memory. I keep the final photos to tell the story.
Moreover, all these photos make me happy. It gives me a feeling of self-accomplishment. Maybe it's silly to you, but it's a very small thing in life. But it sure adds value to our life.
Last year, during this time when I was on bed rest after breaking my leg in an accident; I couldn't cook for many months. That time these photos were all I had.
My cooking is not just a process to me, they are some stories, and some beautiful memories.
Do you have any memories of cooking or plating? I would love to hear your experience.
