Potato croquettes for our lunch menu

Perkedel is a very popular food menu in Indonesia, perkedel can also be made with various ingredients, but the most familiar is perkedel made from potatoes, soft potatoes make this dish very special, even children under 5 years old can really enjoy it.

To enjoy potato croquettes you don't need a lot of ingredients, you only need potatoes as the main ingredient and fried shallots, as well as ground spices such as pepper, salt and a little mushroom stock to add flavor, and I also added an egg to coat it when I fried it later.

With the situation in my place which is still flooded like this, our family almost every day always eats instant noodles and eggs, but today the situation is almost safe as before, the flood has receded, only the house remains to be cleaned from the very thick mud, therefore I want to enjoy a different lunch this time besides Indomie hehehe because we are also bored of eating Indomie for almost a whole week

Finally, I had the idea to make potato croquettes, even with limited ingredients, as not many markets sell other food ingredients.

So, if you're curious about how I make these potato croquettes, just follow the steps I'll share in my post today.


Materials used

2 potatoes
1 egg
1 stalk of spring onion
1 stalk of celery
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 tablespoon broth
2 cloves of garlic
2 cloves of shallot


Manufacturing procedure


First


First I peeled the potatoes until clean, then I washed the potatoes, then I cut the potatoes into small pieces and fried them until cooked.

Second


After the potatoes were fried, I mashed the potatoes until smooth.

Next, in another pan, I fried the shallots and garlic until brown

Next, I added the ground spices to the mashed potatoes, fried onions, and chopped celery and onion leaves, then I ground them again until everything was mixed well. and I shape it round then I flatten it

Five


After I formed everything, I broke one egg and stirred it in the egg, then I dipped the potato mixture into the egg and then I fried the potatoes until they were golden brown.

This is the result of my impromptu cooking when the flood had receded with the ingredients I had on hand. I managed to make this truly extraordinary croquette. With just 2 potatoes, I could make a plate full of croquettes. Immediately, our whole family gathered to enjoy it. I couldn't wait so I immediately grabbed a plate of rice to eat together at home.

These potato cakes are soft and savory to the bite. The potato flavor is very pronounced, and the egg coating on the outside makes them even more delicious. They're perfect with rice or just plain, and they're equally delicious, making me want more rice.
