Oyong is a delicious vegetable in any way you cook it. It's also very popular with the general public, thanks to its delicious flavor. It softens slightly when cooked, so even children can enjoy it. However, if you're giving it to children, don't make this recipe with me, as this red sauce tumia is a bit spicy with the addition of chilies and minced onions.

Yes, I cook it by adding the chilies and minced onions first. I buy this red seasoning at the market along with the vegetables, along with the chilies, onions, and tomatoes to chop.

So, for those of you who like this vegetable, you can just follow my method of cooking it, with my own recipe. Usually, we cook chayote with just chilies and chopped onions, but this time I added red spices to this stir-fry, so that it gives a slightly spicier nuance than usual.

I only used 2 pieces of loofah, because at that time there were only 2 left in the market, for some reason there weren't many left in the market today, usually this vegetable is very abundant in the market

Okay, you're curious about how I cook this chayote vegetable. Okay, just follow the steps that I will share in my post today.

First

First, I peeled the skin of the otong vegetable, then I cut it into small balls. I also prepared the red onion that I bought at the market, and also cut the chilies, onions and tomatoes, to be sautéed with a little cooking oil.

Oyong in red sauce looks yummy! 😋 Love that it's soft enough for the little ones (without the chilies, of course!). 🌶️
