Chana dal samosa
This is a famous Gujarati samosa which is of mini size. It is very tasty, spicy and crispy. It is served as a starter. It is made with ready patti in which any stuffing of your choice can be filled. Today we are making it with chana dal and onion.
Ingredients:-
- Chana dal - 1 cup
- Onion - 5-6 chopped
- Green chilli, ginger and garlic paste
- Mint leaves - 10-15
- Mustard - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Asafoetida - 1/4 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder - 2 teaspoons
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 2 teaspoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon
- Refined flour - 1/2 cup
- Water 1/2 cup
- Ready samosa patti - as per the requirement
- Chat masala - 1 teaspoon
To stick the samosa:-
Mix 1/2 cup refined flour
and 1/2 cup water
to make the paste
Method :-
First of all wash the chana dal
Soak it for 2 hours before washing it, then put the dal in the cooker and cook it till 2-3 whistles. Let the dal cool down and put it in a sieve to drain the extra water.
Now heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and asafoetida and crackle them.
After this, add (green chilli, ginger and garlic) paste and fry it.
And then add boiled chana dal
Mix it well and then add all the spices (red chili powder, coriander powder, salt, turmeric, chat masala, garam masala)
Mix it well
And now add chopped onions to it
Then add mint and coriander to this masala and leave it to cool
We are using the prepared samosa patti to make samosa
By giving triangle shape to samosa patti
Fill it with lentil stuffing
Top We will paste the portion of the samosa with the flour paste
And in the same way we will prepare all the samosa by filling it
Now put oil in a pan and heat it well After heating it
Slow down the flame and fry the samosas
Fry till it becomes golden brown and then take it out and keep it on paper
Serve them with chutney or sauce
