Chickpeas are mainly included in the legume family. It is a tolerant crop in a dry environment. Chickpeas are widely cultivated in Bangladesh. Chickpeas are usually cultivated in winter. Chickpea plants are like small bushes. Chickpeas are round and have a rough skin. Dried chickpeas are brown or yellow in color. Chickpeas are mainly of two types: Desi chickpeas and Kabuli chickpeas.
Chickpeas are a protein-rich food. They contain iron, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus. Vitamin B and vitamin C are found in chickpeas. It supplies blood to the body and helps control diabetes. Eating chickpeas gradually increases blood sugar levels.Chickpeas help in weight loss. The fiber in chickpeas keeps the stomach full for a long time. Chickpeas are effective in preventing heart disease. The magnesium in them helps in controlling blood pressure. Chickpeas have the ability to reduce cholesterol. Chickpeas are beneficial for skin and hair. The zinc and vitamins in them keep the skin beautiful. It fills the iron deficie
ncy. It plays a role in blood formation.It also help in our economy.
Chickpeas are usually served during Iftar during the month of Ramadan. For this, chickpeas are soaked in water for a few hours and then boiled in water. Then they are soaked with onion and green chillies. Chickpeas are usually eaten with muri or sometimes eaten as an afternoon snack. As a bangali we all love to eat this with muri and it calls muri makha.Chickpeas contain antioxidants that boost the body's immunity.So everyone should eat these food regularly.
