Hello everyone!
Today we have a famous Balkan dish on the menu... Beans yummy
I've never cooked beans before. This is my first time, so I decided to share it with you. Usually my parents do it, mom or dad. I prefer it when dad cooks it, he has his own way of cooking it, and it's delicious. Don't tell my mom I told you this.
Today it was my turn to show off my cooking skills. Come with me to the kitchen...
In my house, beans are prepared with this recipe:
- 750g beans
- 1 head of garlic
- 500g dried meat (pork ribs)
- pepper
- salt
- 30ml oil
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon ground pepper
First we have to let the beans soak in water overnight. So we have to start preparing them the night before. We do this so that the beans absorb the water, they will cook easier and be tastier.
Once the beans have absorbed the water, we need to drain that water. I usually drain them in a colander and rinse them a little. Then I put them back in the pot, fill them with water, and wait for them to boil. When they boil, I repeat the process. I drain them, rinse them, and put them back in the pot, fill them with water. I repeat this process one more time. So I wait for the water to boil twice, and then start cooking the third time.
While the beans are cooking on low heat. It's important to cook on low heat. It takes about an hour and a half to two hours to cook, depending on what kind of beans it is.
So, while the beans are cooking, I chop the onion and then slowly add it to the beans.
After the onions, I add the meat.
I was a little distracted so I forgot to take a picture of how I was making the bean sauce, but now I'll explain it to you in a moment. It is not difficult.
Heat the oil in a pan, add 2 tablespoons of flour, fry the flour well. Leave the mixture aside to cool a little, then add 1 tablespoon of ground paprika. Finally, just pour it all into the beans and let it cook for another 5 minutes.
Congratulations, you've just made Serbian beans. I hope you like it!
I hope you enjoyed reading and looking at the photos. I enjoyed making this blog, I hope you did too. Until next time, "Regards!"
