Traditional and local restaurants are always loved by the people themselves. The menu is a familiar menu that makes visitors happy to go there.
Including me, I prefer local restaurants over modern cafes with flavors that may be foreign to my taste buds.
The sun was almost setting and I looked for a local restaurant nearby to break my fast. Looking around me while driving I finally stopped at a striking restaurant with a traditional design similar to an old style house from the past.
Luckily this restaurant doesn't require me to make a reservation. During the fasting month of Ramadan, restaurants generally require reservations.
The MAS BRO RESTAURANT waiters greeted me kindly and handed me the menu. My choice is grilled mackerel fish with spicy soy sauce.
I am very happy with this restaurant, which provides Indonesian food that suits my preferences. There are many other local food choices available but especially spicy food, fish and seafood dishes.
As the name of this restaurant suggests, visitors know that this restaurant provides food with a spicy flavor. So it's very tempting for spicy lovers.
Apart from grilled fish, there is also spicy squid with tempeh. For vegetables, I ordered stir fried water spinach.
I walked around the restaurant while waiting for the order to come. It turned out there were quite a lot of customers so I had to be patient.
This traditional restaurant carries a semi-outdoor and outdoor concept. I sat in the outdoor area.
The semi outdoor area looks like a traditional house. You can see the roof of the building is made from dried thatch plants. In the past, our traditional houses also had roof materials like that.
The restaurant building looks attached to large, shady trees. Similar to the past where Indonesian people built traditional houses under big trees because they were still in the forest area on the edge of the village.
The lamps are fitted with woven covers. Looks classic but still beautiful.
In the outdoor area we find a garden in the corner. There is a pond and small gurgling water there.
The walls around the pool are textured using natural stones. This reminds me of the atmosphere in the countryside in rice fields that have small waters with gazebos there.
Taro plants are also planted to add a green atmosphere to this traditional restaurant.
Near the pond, a bridge was made that was painted black to add a natural impression like in a beautiful park. This space is suitable for visitors who want to take photos to immortalize the moment at this restaurant.
There is also a gazebo style seating area which also uses attractive original wood. With a roof using dry thatch plants. This gazebo looks quite spacious and suitable for families. Sit together with the family without a bench.
In other areas, artificial grass is provided.
I think it's a good choice because it's easier to maintain compared to using real grass which can be damaged by being stepped on by restaurant visitors.
Let me tell you about the taste of the food from this restaurant. Starting from fish, squid and water spinach are very spicy and it suits my taste.
Eating food for iftar this time with my enthusiasm. I ordered hot tea for the beverage.
Dining out under the shady trees makes me feel chilled out. The combination of traditional buildings with large trees is unique.
Suitable to visit for those of us who want to chill out and taste traditional Indonesian cuisine which is definitely spicy here.
