How are you all? I hope you are all well and always happy. Meet me again, nice to meet you all. I'm back with my story about visiting a beautiful cafe with delicious drinks.
This time, I visited a new eatery—though despite being new, it is already very famous. It’s called Seng Hap. It is a restaurant (?) that sells a variety of foods from UMKM (small and medium-sized enterprises, often involving home-based products). There is a huge selection of food available here, ranging from snacks and hearty meals to cakes, bread, rice dishes, spaghetti, and much more.
They also sell a variety of bottled drinks, but if you prefer something else, there is a café here offering a selection of beverages—such as coffee with milk, black coffee, coffee-tea blends, tea, and hot chocolate—along with food options like toasted bread.
The venue is quite comfortable—semi-outdoor and without air conditioning, yet spacious and pleasant; they provide several fans, so it doesn't get too hot. There are also photos on display recounting the history of Medan and the site itself, as Seng Hap is a historic building located in Medan's Old Town area—a unique structure steeped in history.
Nasi Sambal Cumi
Now, let's talk about the food. Since it's lunchtime, I needed some rice, so I ordered the Nasi Sambal Cumi (Rice with Squid Sambal). It cost only 11,000 rupiah—cheap, even though the portion was small.
But it’s quite delicious—spicy and savory. The portion is small and not overly filling, making it perfect for eating here so you can try other dishes. The rice is wrapped in a banana leaf and shaped into a cone. The squid sambal, featuring chili slices, is delicious.
Dessert
I also bought two desserts—both were pastries. They had cute and unique shapes, which is why I bought them—haha.
Honestly, I don't know the name of this cake, but it's delicious. Both have the same texture—soft and sweet. The yellow one has a slight tanginess, making it tastier than the other. Oh, and if any of you think it's shaped like a bear, you're mistaken; it's actually a cat—haha, that's what it says.

I also ordered bottled water to drink, because I forgot to bring a drink from home.
Kopi Susu
I also ordered coffee—specifically, coffee with milk. It had a standard taste—just coffee mixed with milk. They didn't use an espresso machine; it was simply coffee brewed with hot water. It wasn't bad, exactly, but there was nothing special about it.
Alright, so that was my activity for this time. Trying something new is really fun, and this is a great spot, too—it makes me want to try the other food options here. Plus, my photos turned out pretty well; the lighting is great, haha. Thanks for reading my story, and see you next time!
