Have you ever had a Pizza Dare?
Have you even heard of a pizza dare? I know I never had, so was very intrigued when we saw it on the menu of Mozza which purports to have True Neapolitan Pizza!
True Neapolitan Pizza
I had to be in St Andrews in Fife, Scotland a couple of weeks on a Friday.
Being a Friday I asked Mrs T if she fancied coming along. I mentioned pizza and her eyes lit up!
I had never heard of this place Mozza, but it had got good reviews.
Being American Mrs T does like her pizzas and to put it mildly the pizzas over here and generally overpriced and pretty crap so to speak.
She did her due diligence.
In fact she had found the menu online.

Whilst I belong to the I will eat it if there is nothing else pizza camp had plumped for number 8 on the menu.
Remember this was all done on the couch at home!
It might changed when we got there...
Mrs T was somewhat intrigued with number 13 ... the MOZZA DARE
It really was a chef's surprise.
I had booked a table for 2.30pm, being a university town and a Friday afternoon, you never know if it would be busy or not!
Turned out that we were the only customers in there.
Normally that could bring alarm bells. However the ambience was giving off good vibes.
In fact I am not going to lie, the pizza cutter on the menu on the table did it for me!
The staff were brilliant and students. We had a girl from Malaysia doing a masters who was our main server.
I had a pint of Angelo Poretti and Mrs T a pint of full fat Coke.
PIZZA ~ The number 8
I had chosen my pizza due to having artichokes. I love artichokes and black olives.
Throw in ham , salami and some mozzarella cheese and you almost have my pizza.
Haha I just saw the bold mozza in mozzarella on the menu and twigged with the name Mozza for the restaurant.
I am slow at times...
PIZZA ~ The number 13 The DARE
Our waitress had explained what the chefs would do. WE just said anything we did not like or were allergic to.
They did the rest. The triangles were stuffed.
2 huge pizzas
They really were big pizzas and my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
As much as I like bread etc it fills me up fast, and also counts with pizza bases.
However, these were so thin pizza bases, and the focus was on the toppings.
They really were out of this world.
Remember I am the pizza non fan and I was drooling.
Mrs T meanwhile was in shock!
Triangle stuffing
Each triangle was stuffed with cheese or ham or some combination, and were all different.
Mrs T loved it and could not believe it.
She loves pizza and been here on and off for over 20 years and was hard pressed trying to remember as good a one as she had in the UK.
First quarters down
Actually I snorted down the first quarter, it was so darn tasty. The artichokes were cooked to perfection and the olives just perfect.
Mrs T was still in shock and had applied a liberal sprinkling of the chilli flakes which had a nice touch of heat about them!
Ice Cream to finish
Actually we were getting paid to eat here but had (I said had like it was some sort of punishment 🤣
So the simplest or should I say the easiest to eat was ice cream.
Mrs T had the salted caramel topping...
Whilst I opted for my all time favourite raspberry sauce.
Spades and Shovels
They had the most cute spoons, I had a spade whilst Mrs T had a shovel.
The brown stick is a chocolate flake in case anyone was wondering!
The verdict
It got a 10 out of 10 from me and Mrs T as well.
The price was around £50 for the pair of us which was pretty good for a 2 course meal with a drink.
