Good day, @Hive family. I trust your day has been great. It feels good to post again on @foodiesbeehive . Welcome to my blog

Today, I’ll be sharing how I made a delicious sweet snack using just two ingredients.
Making this sweet brought back so many childhood memories. As a little girl, helping my aunt make this sweet for sale was always a joyful moment.

My cousins and I never missed the chance to scrape the pot for leftover sweets, those moments were some of the best childhood memories.
That’s where I first learned how to make it, and even though it’s been over two decades, the process is still very fresh in my mind.
Ingredients
Condensed milk
Vegetable oil

Step 1
Place a frying pan on low heat and add about three spoonfuls of vegetable oil. Before the oil heated up, I added the condensed milk. I didn’t measure it precisely, but it was about one scoop of a deep serving spoon.

Step 2
I gently stirred as it began to bubble and thicken. The stirring continued for about 15 minutes. Along the way, I added two more spoonfuls of vegetable oil because it started to feel sticky and swell up.

Step 3
At this stage, the mixture began to change color and finally looked like the sweet I remembered. I also noticed it increased in size and swelled as it bubbled, something I honestly didn’t expect. Of course, I was happy because that meant more sweet LOL.

Step 4
After stirring for another 10 minutes more, I achieved the creamy brown color I wanted. Now came the tricky part. I remember that rolling and cutting were always the biggest challenges back then. My aunt had mastered it over time and would roll it while it was still very hot, because once it cooled, it became stiff.

This time, I decided to try using cookie cutters. Trust me, it wasn’t easy lol. I managed to get a few shapes and cut the rest by hand. And just like that, our sweet was ready.

Eating it brought back so many childhood memories. I shared it with my daughters, and they were so excited. It felt like reliving a typical Saturday afternoon in my family house yard.
Even my mum reminisced and smiled, I know she had her own nostalgic moments too.

For me, it wasn’t just about the sweet. It was about the memories it stirred and the opportunity to create new ones with my girls.
So tell me in the comments, will you be trying this out?
Thank you for stopping by my blog. Cheers
