Faridastan
Hey 👋
I'm Farida
I was born in Karachi, the famous city of Pakistan, located in Sindh province.
But my roots are from Dera Ismail Khan (KPK) from father's side, and chaman(Balochistan) from mother's side.
All my life and education was done in Karachi.
Later when I was 23, I got married to an army officer, who was my neighbor so we started liking each other, and things ended with a nikah knot.

Im the eldest daughter and totally different from the other siblings and cousins, you can say the problem child, because of exquisive behavior.
I belong to a business owner + Pathan family, there was no focus on education, nor any guidelines for higher education, my father was much liberal among my other uncles. So then after my college, I did a few diplomas and short courses.
-Like textile designing
-Fine arts, pottery , food and beverages diploma
I was the first girl in the family who learned driving, even the first girl who did a love marriage.

My married life didn't turn out well. After 20 years of domestic abuse and violence, he divorced me ( no regrets happily divorced) with 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl.

It was a rough ride after divorce, but allhamdulilah survived, I used to do 3 jobs, in the morning teaching at a special children school. After that I used to go to a studio for voice over for dramas, commercials or documentaries, and a night shift at a restaurant as a restaurant manager.

My life got settled when I got a job at a UK based NGO as a clinic manager, a handsome salary with benefits.
But meanwhile my ex claimed to take kids away from me, I did not agree but my daughter decided to move because she wanted him also to have the responsibility, because he was not supporting when kids were with me.
So I got alone , that was the hardest period of my life, any mother can understand.
So at this point I started looking for a partner or a boyfriend as a revenge to my ex.

But my daughter was not happy with her decision , going back to her father's house was a mistake. He started torturing the kids.
She was a brilliant child , since childhood she always toped in every class. She wanted to become a doctor, but her father refused to pay her medical college fees, and made her work at home, preparing food, washing dishes, laundry, cleaning etc.
In this all mess one day she got a cardiac arrest while sleeping on 18 Dec 2019, and she left this world at only 21 years of age.

I was shattered, resigned from my job , spending my days and nights crying, visiting her grave almost everyday, spending hours and hours there.
Suddenly, one fine morning I woke up and thought life could not be spent like this. I needed to work ,earn to survive, so I decided to leave Karachi and move to some other city, so Islamabad was my first choice. I sold my furniture, packed only 2 bags of belongings and came to Islamabad.

I stayed for a month with a friend, searched for a job and a place to live and luckily got both.
So now I'm spending my life with my rules and enjoying my hobbies mostly traveling around.
I love cooking. Here are a few dishes am sharing with my readers.

My second passion is painting. Art makes me feel accomplished.

I also like DIY projects. Some of the pottery I made.

I love to share my travelling experiences. A couple of days before I came from Chitral. I will share more about it in one of my travel posts.

So, this was my life short biography. Now I'm living and well settled in Islamabad, 1,444 km away, from my home town, and family.
I have made some new friends here, but mostly, I love staying at home and keep myself busy with my hobbies, growing vegetables, invite friends over lunch or dinner so cooking gives me stratification, making crochet items, knitting or painting.
People around always asking me, don't you get bored living alone, but honestly as a Pisces I love my loneliness 😉.
I am thankful to @hilal09 for introducing me to Hive and blogging. A whole new world for me, I am excited and looking forward to share my stories. Our friendship thrives further my friend. I miss being with you in Karachi.
See you soon.
