I did see that, but still. They are doing it NEXT year, not this year. Changing it this year isn't a good sign.

But it is 2025 -- to get to 2026, the next mid-term election, they have to do it this year. Now, if they were SMART, they would have done it years ahead like San Francisco so the people would have had a chance to know what the implication is and choose whether they wanted to extend the term on the ballot. Our previous mayor also served an extra year, but we knew in advance.
