This. I still consider myself agnostic rather than atheist (used to be a devoted faith person), but to most of my family they are effectively the same thing. All I keep saying to them is that I'm the same person with the same compassion I always was.
Well put. I think it's quite frequent to label someone as atheist simply for not believing the god one believes in.
