What's the difference between Snaps, Threads, Waves, Dbuzz, and Moments?

Sort:

same kind of microblogging on different UI's of Hive... 🤷

But they all look the same in Hive. Or am I missing something obvious?

You do not miss anything, i guess... many different ways to post to hive. F.E. for this message, i use the standalone snapie.app to post onto the peakd snaps. Which is all just different ways to post to hive. Why you can see them on other UI's too.

I guess I'm not making myself clear. Why would I post on a Wave rather than a Moment?

i guess i misunderstood...

And it's also that when you post a wave for example, it 'only' goes to the ecency UI. I'm not 100% sure, but it's 'only' peakd that show all the different micro-bloggings on one site, even mixed all together...

You've said it all.

You're not missing anything at all.

Not the same kind, 'cause in Snaps you can find (and have) more fun.

You can find more fun around Snaps. :)

Most use comments on root posts, but each of the 'dapps' has decided to do their own flavour that may have some unique features. I think DBuzz uses regular posts. The types of posts can vary across them. I tend to prefer what I see in Snaps, but I use peakd anyway. It's not idea.

You can pick anyone and have fun.
