Most likely I'll never understand how can people in a country with sinking economy, where inflation is sky high, opportunities to make ends meet and earn a decent living are slim to none, spend money on useless, shiny things just to show off 😳

3 - I'd rather have food in my pantry than spend money on superficial things, but most people want to project a status they don't have. That's why Latin Americans are condemned to never escape the abyss.

I'd never thought I'd see someone from Latin America admit this, but you're very different in many regards. You can count Africa in as well. I see them parading with iPhones in the dirt, when they don't have a penny to spend tomorrow. Pure madness.

While millionaires and well off people are wearing plain clothes and driving middle category cars, trying to keep a low profile, because no need for attention and that's the right attitude.

I guess some people deserve their faith, saying this without any cruelty.

When you have the chance to change your life and have a decent living, yet you choose to spend money you can't afford on all the garbage you don't need ... what more can I say. It's a choice.

The lower social classes, especially in Latin American countries, are the ones who spend the most on designer clothes, fashion, and high-end smartphones. It's all due to a mentality of pretending to be something they're not. In my country, an iPhone seems to be a status symbol.

2- Those of us who use a low-end Android are looked down upon, as if we weren't on their level, and things like that. Wearing shoes that are copies of well-known brands also generates disapproval.

I have the same questions 🤔
