RE: Snaps Container // 3/15/2026, 3:00:00 AM

in Snapslast month

I just made it 24 hours with no booze! Wahoo!

I am trying hard to get to 7 days with no booze because after the 7 day mark it’s a lot easier to quit!

Drinking is mostly a waste of time and I want to be a better person so I’m trying to quit.

Wish me luck!

Totally support you on this. My husband and I did the same after we caught ourselves craving it too much. Don't let it control your will. Simple as that.

And it does get easier. 👍

That’s awesome you and your husband did that together!

Agreed letting it control my will is a no no and I’m trying to stay ahead of it!

Thank you for the thoughtful comment and good vibes.

(edit.) When you feel like drinking alcohol, replace it with lots of chocolate, it's great!

LOL! I’m not sure if you are just getting but eating sweets is actually supposed to help! 😆

If I feel the urge I’ll give it a try.

I’m almost to 2 days! Wahoo!

Every day is a small achievement... If you used to drink every day, you might experience withdrawal symptoms.

Good call out! I didn’t drink a crazy amount daily so I won’t have physical withdrawals.

But I did drink often enough it became a part of my routine and I’m trying to get away from that!

In smalls sips, the danger may lie down.

Everybody can do it.

Agreed!

I will try to remember this Yoda quote to get me through it. Haha!

Oh, congrats :) Do you really drink every day?

Not everyday but often enough I want to quit for a while.

I mostly drink beer though. I lost a bunch of weight and can’t handle liquor 😅

I am Czech, I love beer :))

I love beer too 🤣

But it has become too much of a habit for me so it’s time to let it go.

I avoid drinking at home. Since I prefer craft beers I usually take a hike or a stroll to one of our five hundred microbreweries. Then I can afford a few pints :)

Also, I stick to that when traveling, so I’ve been to craft breweries in around 20 countries. Not just to blog about them :)

Congrats! Don't give up!

Thank you! I appreciate it!

You're right, it's going to be easier after the first week. I was the same with coffee, in 2018, when I quit. Tough process, but totally worth it. It sets you free basically! You can do it!

They say the first week is a hell of a ride.

It was for me. The first two days I was shaking, shivering with headaches and dizziness.

Damn it! 👀

Did you manage to overcome it?

Sure, it's been 7 years since then and I've never had a single sip of coffee.

🤘

Quitting coffee is next level. I’m not sure I’m ready for that one 😆

But you are totally correct. After first 7 days it’s way easier!

Good luck with that. Don't give up. But if you relapse, keep trying to quit with a smarter plan.

Thanks man! I made it to day 2 now!

Looking forward to making it to day 3!

Agreed on the don’t give up part! I appreciate it!

You can reward yourself for reaching day 3. Something you don't usually eat, for example.

I will have to try to think of something extra tasty!

I made it to day 3! Day 3 in the hole! Let’s go!!!untitled.gif

You can do it, if only you want to.
You can as well replace it with something else. Wishing you good luck

Congratulations, of course you can. I know you'll succeed because you've already taken the first step.

Thanks!!! Each day is a new step I guess and I’ve completed day 3! Wahoo! 😄

For some reason when you said “step” it reminded me of “Santa Claus is Comin' to Town.” Kind of random I know. Maybe I need some sleep 😆

This is how it's done.

Don't give up, @hurtlocker.

Think about all the things you could invest in instead of spending that money on drinks. You can do it. Make it 21 days... supposedly, a habit is formed in 21 days.

That's a great decision you've made, and I truly wish you all the best. May you have success.

Thank you! I got through day 3 and am now looking forward to completing day 4!untitled.gif

Keep going. Soon you'll lose track of time, you'll forget how much time has passed. Success! Perseverance always pays off.
