second season of 'the sandman' was 'super disappointing'... the first season at least had a pretty good story for the first few episodes, but the second season sucked from the start...

i didn't read the novel, is there an actual story? everything felt unrelated and without any goal or point. Literally only liked the first few episode of the first season,
Yes there is. First season was his quest to retrieve his stuff. Second season covers his search for Destruction (4th endless), freeing Nada, mercy killing his son leading to his death and new Dream.
the first story made sense because we watched it happen from the beginning. the rest, not so much. second season was full of flashbacks, and i absolutely hate flashbacks....
i think thats one of the main reason i didn't like it...
I'll give it a watch anyway as I've read the books. I was hoping they could do a good job of it.

The first season was pretty true to the books. I've read the first four volumes and they do vary a bit. I wonder if we will get any more shows as Neil Gaiman has been suffering some reputation issues. He's a prolific guy with lots of his books being filmed already.
I haven’t watched it yet. Sad to hear it wasn’t as good. I might still try the first season.
