I might a little hate from the hivesigner haters... but I think I'm going to enable the option on snapieio after all... looking into it right now
That's what I did last week.
5 users requested specifically for HiveSigner option.
I was left with no choice
For Hive apps I use daily, I would like #Hivesigner to be available as a login method for each of them (as an alternative option when #HiveKeychain is not available). 🤓
!INDEED !LOLZ
I would hesitate to put my Hive account's private key (even just the posting one) directly on any Hive app (where #HiveKeychain and #Hivesigner are the exceptions). 🧘♂️😅
!INDEED !HOPE !WEIRD !ALIVE !PEPE
sadly openpods wont work with hivesigner... can't think of how i would make it work.. maybe sleeping on it will help me.
You can make it work.
HiveSigner returns you JWT Token.
It's all base64.
Decode string & you'll get signature & everything in it.
Verify it on server side & issue your open Pods JWT & Done Done Done.

An app with only Hivesigner would be a show-stopper for me, but as long as there is a keychain option, it is fine.
But I would be cautious with Hivesigner, maybe it is exploitable, with it´s stone-old code.
Why would you get hate? Do you have to take away other options to add this one? o_O
No, I don't... but truthfully hivesigner hasn't been updated in 5 years... and, I can't make all of snapie work with it. So it would be a limited experience.
Let us know what update you need or feature that’s missing? Updates not announced doesn’t mean there was no update btw. We do constantly security patches and it still does what it needs to… Maybe perception is, we need to see UI changes to consider updated, we can check ways to improve UI for sure
Awesome to know... I'll get you guys a doc then, so I can get compatibility with OpenPods
Great. https://github.com/ecency/hivesigner-ui (api|sdk) are the repos if you want to check inner workings or point your AI to it.
Ahh. Well whichever way you decide reasonable people will understand and accept your explanation :)
Can't we get an option f signing in with a posting key too like Ecency and Hivesuiteapp. This transaction approval irritates being slow.
Never heard from any haters. Is it different yes, is it inconvenient for people who never tried oauth yes, is it blockchain based even more confusing yes, but that doesn’t mean it is working exactly as it was designed and does that job very well. We always welcome feedback and improve, feel free to share your findings or do PR it is opensource and community owned after all, we just maintain it.
Is there some kind of back end security to trap buggerinos from getting points with upvotes? Noticed I give some out and dont always get the points.
There's an auth token you must have for the points to add up. Think of the token as a session cookie. You get one when the chat is active. Now, I hoped I had made it to where if the chat token was not existent, it would auto activate the chat to get the token and not miss tokens. Seems to be working better, not missing tokens. That said, I just made the changes. You tell me if its still showing up.
Just voted this Snap and it added.
Thank you sir. I'll become the thing I'm trying not to become...Buggerino life.
I like #Hivesigner, but as a second option when #HiveKeychain is not available. 🤓

I like, and use Hivesigner all the time while on mobile. Having options is always a good thing.
