Beautiful landscape. It looks somewhat dry. Is this normal for that area? It reminds me of the central Okanagan region here in BC.
Yeah, it is high desert type area in Bend, OR so pretty dry.
Looks like Okanagan is kind of on the east side of the little bit of the Cascades you have in BC, like Bend down here. Probably would be a similar climate.
Moving towards the interior things start getting drier, and the variety of trees changes. This is Radium, BC, which is geographically close to that region.

Cool looking place!
As you come down the east slope of the cascades here the fir trees of the west side and summit start to give way to pine forests. As you hit the high desert, junipers and sage start to take over. The Cascades act as a rain shadow and squeeze out all the rain.
There are hot springs nearby thanks to its volcanic proximity. It's crazy how different each zone is based on the influence of the landscape, which is dominated by the mountains, as you said.
