A #hive of red wood ants, Formica rufa (dt. "Rote Waldameise"). Their colonies can have multiply queens (polygyny). Bizarre: in Bulgaria and Turkey those ants were used to make yoghurt😮!

Never tried ants, but interesting that they carry these lactic acid bacteria that can ferment milk into yogurt. Didn't know about it.
Maybe that's the reason why in the past ants were used as a medicine paste to heal wounds. 🤔
