Unlike x86 and ARM, RISC-V is an open Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) and it has been getting better at a rapid rate.

Unless someone wants to really mass produce, unfortunately, this might not have lots of wings.
The problem with architecture is always the mass produce... and if you can't sell you won't be in the market (long term). That's it...
I love RISC-V initiative though.
