There's only so much mowed grass we need so we should leave some natural. That's what we've done in the garden. Mowing is an endless task anyway.
Not if you have a BIG mower as I have.
You have to tilt it back and turn it on its back wheels. 🤣
Ours at least pulls itself along. I'd be tempted by a robot one, but our lawn is a bit irregular. People over the road have a ride-on!
I was tempted to get a couple of those sheep on Clarkson's Farm
Image Source but I don't have £4K, and they'd eat the flowers.
Never watched it. Think of the free manure! Our chicken pecks at some grass, but won't make much difference.
You should. I watched S05 E03 last night, and it blew my mind. The UK farming methods are in the 14th Century compared to those in the Netherlands. They had a floating dairy farm (in the harbour!!) that was self-sustaining and had an almost 0-carbon rating. Fully automated! The farmer could literally sit at home. There was another farm where they had mapped the field with a kind of radar that told them where the weeds were, and an autonomous drone blitzed those areas only, thus saving on cost and the plant by not spraying the whole field. Incredible.
I'm not a big Clarkson fan. We watch Countryfile that may give a more realistic view of farming. I know a lot of them struggle and may not be able to afford all this tech. It's generally a hard life.
